    Post Question about bootable SD.

You would need to wipe the SDcard before you can try other ROMs. Also mainly not the ROM causing the lag and unresponsive but rather the SDcard class/manufacture. What kind of SDcard are you using?

    Post Why update to 1.2?

If you barely use the stock OS, I would just stay on CM7. The major changes was the addition of the BN app store and Froyo. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/nookcolor-support-software-update/379002520/

Post [Q] Any ideas how the new partitions will affect new Nook Color buyers?

If you guys get the new partition, give this a try. I've done it myself since I had the new partition. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13971291&postcount=110 Works perfectly :)

Post Brand new NC w/ 1.2 no sd boot

Just finished following your steps and it worked out great! I now have 5.23GB Available Storage after restoring my NC 1.2 rooted backup completely (/data restored with no problems)! I'm going to try dual-booting to confirm that works as well! >>Edit<< Running prep-dualboot-0.1 and/or...

Post Brand new NC w/ 1.2 no sd boot

I sent you a PM btw. I'm using the latest nookie froyo on the SDcard now. Doing ./busybox give me a not found error But doing busybox on here gives me the following commands. And on your step 11, that displays the partitions again rather than the partition editor.

I booted nookie froyo from a SDcard and connected from ADB fine. I'm getting this error when I'm doing step 2.

    Post memory problem

Nope, you are wrong. New models made in May or refurb units as of May are partitioned for 1 GB of space. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13772065&postcount=4

Yes you should be able to run ROMs off an SDcard.

Post [Q] newly bought nook unable to be flash with phiremod

For some odd reason, no. I've managed to install 1.1 and 1.01 but they show the space available on the Nook as 0GB. Books will not download either.

Post [Q] newly bought nook unable to be flash with phiremod

I brought this issue up about a week ago and noone seems to have a solution. Here's the fdisk and parted information from my thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13769614&postcount=3 I'd be willing to play around with the NC I have to send back (I have until Monday to send it...

Post [Q] How do I partition the eMMC to support Custom ROMs?

I'm just unfamiliar with the block sizes and the commands to partition/change it. ____________________________________________ I do have the NC I'm suppose to send back that's fully wiped. I'd be willing to partition it myself before I send it back if someone could walk me through it.

Post [Q] How do I partition the eMMC to support Custom ROMs?

Already tried that. You'll get a 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 with 0 Space available and you cannot sideload because of that. All that does is re-write the folders and not partition it. I even tried changing the factory.zip with an older version in the /emmc and did a system/data wipe through the 8 boot...

    Post [Q] Cannot Format /Data

I don't mind losing my /data. I rather be able to install CM7 or something on the EMMC as opposed to running it on the SD. I'd be grateful if someone could show me how to partition it so it's back to the original partition, 4gb/4gb as opposed to 7gb/1gb I think.

    Post [Q] Cannot Format /Data

I wonder if they made it so that outside sources can't write or modify /data now but it's still rootable with manualnooter.. I can format the other partitions through CWM and restore them easily. EDIT http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nookcolor/features/index.asp?cds2Pid=35583 *1GB = 1 billion...

Post Brand new NC w/ 1.2 no sd boot

Is there a way to repartition the space with parted and fdisk? If so, that'll just solve the issue with newer versions like me. EDIT http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nookcolor/features/index.asp?cds2Pid=35583 *1GB = 1 billion bytes; Actual formatted capacity may be less. Approximately 5GB...

    Post [Q] Cannot Format /Data

You can just "Reset to factory default" and it'll remove the root. Then you can try to return it or exchange it. I'd probably say this if they ask for a reason... "It's showing 1GB space as opposed to 8GB space as advertised" Though I'm wondering why install CM7 doesn't change anything. After...

Post Brand new NC w/ 1.2 no sd boot

I've actually had two certified refurbished nooks from them as a "replacement" in which both had files in /emmc dated to May 4th. They also both had 1GB space available as well as having problems installing CM7 and/or trying to setup dualboot. Though I can boot from the SD card fine.

    Post [Q] Cannot Format /Data

Someone responded back to me on this forum. http://androidforums.com/b-n-nookcolor/333668-format-internal-partition.html#post2672750 Is there anyway to repartition the new devices or I'm stuck with this? If not, it's going to prevent me from dualbooting. This might also be the cause of my...

    Post [Q] Cannot Format /Data

There's one thing I noticed about this refurb'd nook color. The space available in the device info is 1GB. Shouldn't it be higher or did they change the file structure with the latest models? Also, I went into ADB and mounted EMMC. The last modified date for the files in there is May 4th...

    Thread [Q] Cannot Format /Data

Whenever I try to format /data through CWM 3.0.2.8, it returns the message. Also when I try to restore a backup, CWM cannot format /data. I've also tried to install CM7. It says it completed its install in CWM but when I reboot, it retains the OS (rooted stock 1.2) I was currently on.

    Thread [Q] Recreating Partitions

I'm somewhat in the same dilemma by messing up my partitions trying to dual-boot. Now I have a semi-bricked Nook Color that still can be booted up via a CWM SD card. I was able to completely wipe it all through parted. Now I need help restoring the partitions and the required files to boot...

    Post [Q] Restore partition?

So I actually found out that...when I plug the Nook via USB to my computer, two drives come up (There is no SD card in it). They're both unreadable with no indication the capacity.
