Thread [Android] Any way to move or hide the Note Saver preview window?

I love using the Create Pad for note taking while reading (i.e. using Note Saver), but enabling note taking automatically opens the small live preview window in the bottom right of the screen. Is there any way to close, resize or reposition this preview window without stopping note-taking mode...

Post Magnetic charger suitable for horizontal use

Although this is becoming increasingly less relevant, just a heads up that its not quite all Z-line phones, as the original Z did not have the magnetic port, but confusingly I think the Z Ultra did. It had a two-pin charging port on the side, but no magnetics, and is obviously not compatible...

Post To the Xperia Tablet S owners, is it worth buying?

Agreed. As I've said before, anyone upgrading/downgrading from a Tablet S to a Nexus 7 (or vice versa) should be bloody sure they know what they're doing. The two devices are a whole different beast to use and live with. That 2.4-inch difference in screen sizes changes a lot. There's also the...

    Post Ubuntu desktop for android

Unofrtunately, as much as I would love to see it, it's categorically impossible on our device. 1. Post Aweful Experience with Sony S, finally Sold & Moving to XPERIA TABLET/NEXUS7

Yes, the IR transmitter is infrared-based (IR=infrared) and that's how Sony's Remote Control apps works, by sending the right codes via the infrared blaster on the top of the device. As for unlocking the device on its last update, thats incredibly unlikely, but we can always maintain hope :P

    Post Next Tablet?

Also, this might just be me, but if you already have a Galaxy Note, a 7" Nexus 7 is probably not the right choice for you. There's only going to be 2 inches of difference between them. This is just my opinion, of course, but make sure you try out a Nexus before you go buying one.

Post How to add more small apps?

It doesn't work like that. Individual apps need to be WRITTEN as Small Apps-compatible and the Browser, Calculator and Remote Control are the only currently available Small Apps-compatible applications. So, no, you can't add new Small Apps, and you can't delete them either, which is annoying, I...

I swear I should just keep this on clipboard! The Nexus 7 is cheap and relatively capable, but doesn't have have any of the bells and whistles, and most importantly is much smaller at 7". This will be particularly noticeable when reading and watching videos. It is however much more portable...

    Post MODs?

As you alluded to, that is definitely NOT going to happen. Microsoft have already stated that Windows 8 RT will not be publicly released, will only be available to OEMs and will not be backported to current hardware. Even if it was, drivers for the Sony's quite unique hardware set are...

    Post Next Tablet?

I'm with Gramon on this one. As cheap as a Nexus 7 is, it's missing too many features for me, and that 7" form factor is just too small after upgrading my old GT-P1000 7" Galaxy Tab for the Sony's glorious 9.4". I would never go back. For an added bonus, I don't know what problems you guys are...

    Post Has anyone tried Mhl?

Yeah, but expecting that was dreaming pretty high. Sony's most innovative hardware has always been their most protected and locked down for multitude of reasons. If you need a highly extensible and customisable technology, skip the Sony offerings.
  24. A

    Post Has anyone tried Mhl?

Haven't tried myself (don't have an adapter) but others on the forum have tried and there doesn't appear to be any MHL capability at all. Sony would prefer you use DLNA to stream your content, so the omission of MHL makes sense. It's an irritating absence, but we can't have everything :)

Quite aside that for all of the praise you heap on the Nexus 7, it's missing a lot of features that other users might seriously want/need. If nothing else, the screen is a full 2.4" smaller. I used to own a 7" Galaxy Tab. I upgraded to the Tablet S because I liked that glorious 9.4" screen...

    Post Question. Please answer!

As I said in your other thread (see below), the Sony has a locked bootloader and original recovery. Sony has locked the Tablet S down well, and there is only a couple of root methods. If your tablet arrives with Honeycomb and a kernel below build#10, you can root it. You can then upgrade to ICS...

    Post Custom rom

Short answer: NO. The Sony still has a locked bootloader and a standard recovery which borks on most upgrade.zip's until the signature verification is disabled. It is possible to pre-root the stock OTA ROM, and there is a limited amount of customisation that can be done at that stage (I am...

Huh? The TV B Gone is a separate device and has nothing to do with the tablet. Post [Q] Emulating Operating systems.

If you want to run Ubuntu, you're better off using Complete Linux Installer from the Play Store to run Ubuntu as a chroot environment. It's similar to emulation, but possibly a little faster than Bochs or QEMU. It's also vastly easier to install since there are already custom-built images...

    Post [Q] Tablet S 3G as Phone/SMS

I think you'll be waiting for a very long time. I think you'll find that that's not going to happen as Sony knows that practically every Sony Tablet buyer already has a smartphone. Post [Q] Tablet S 3G as Phone/SMS

The phone functions you list are on a much smaller Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (7.89 mm,340gm), a tablet designed for portability. I don't have ICS installed, so many of these things will have changed. In Honeycomb, the Sony stock apps required copying data to internal storage, but third-party apps could access it just fine. The only problem (which caused the occasional app to not find the SD Card), is that most devices...

    Post Ubuntu on Tablet S?

Kind of. The chroot method should work by all accounts. This will allow you to run Ubuntu within Android and should work, but will be quite slow. Running Ubuntu natively on the tablet is, however, not possible without 1) an unlocked bootloader and 2) a hell of a lot of work with low-level...

Post Sony tablet S 16 GB - real capacity

Maybe. In general, the storage number always relates to the amount of actual physical storage is included in the device. User-accessible storage is a whole different deal and liable to change.
