Hi guys, do you need to root or unlock your bootloader to flash the generic FTF if you're coming from Telstra firmware? I remember on the old X10 that it wasn't necessary to have an unlocked bootloader.

I am currently on the 2.1.58 baseband and running a 2.2 custom ROM. The ROM I want to flash requires a .49 baseband. I know that I can use the baseband patch, but I would rather flash the custom rom from a clean install. Would there be any problem in flashing an original SE ROM with the .49...

What do we need to get official Cyanogenmod support? I can see that we have quite a few excellent CM 6/7 based roms, but wouldn't it be nice to get some official support? What do we need to get it?

Little problem here. I cannot seem to record any video in 720p using H246 or H263 (I think that was it). If I try to record, the camera just hangs and stops responding. Then if I try to open the camera again, it just says "Could not connect to camera" or something along those lines.

What a crock of ****. Timescape is a laggy pile of crap while mediascape is just okay. I know that we were never promised a 2.2 update and frankly I was never expecting one, but this mentality of "We know best and the customers are a load of idiots" is bullshit. Who the hell does he think he is?

I haven't actually tried this yet, but I did download X10Flash and I can't find any option to delete userdata. I'm hesitant to start this since deleting userdata seems to be a very important step. EDIT: using the GUI version.

Sell it and buy a new phone. You said it was a gift and it's obvious that there's a lot you don't like about it so put it up on ebay and get yourself a new phone. No point in sticking with a device that you're not happy with.

I have to say, these new rooting instructions are excellent and dead simple to use once you change those lines in the files. Hats off to the devs for this. Everything works like a charm as well once you apply the 026 marketfix :D
