Make sure there are no apps drawing over other apps. That includes things like Lux that tints the screen. Some security related prompts are not available if any app is drawing on top of them. This prevents the other app from changing what it looks like the prompt is for.

That is the process. Wipe, Flash Rom, flash firmware and optionally modem. I just went to Alliance Rom from stock mje using those step.

I don't think there is any requirement for safestrap once you are on kit kat but it could be useful for making backups even if you don't want to flash anything else. Don't forget to update the firmware using odin.

safestrap 3.65 is what you need while you are running jellybean to flash the kit kat rom. Once you are on kit kat you then need the newer safestrap to flash anything more while you are running kit kat.

What you did wrong was to not follow the instructions. You can't flash the kk build in a rom slot. It has to go in the stock slot and you have to update the firmware.

If people would at least read the last 2 or 3 pages before posting there would be a lot less repeated questions. If you aren't willing to read anything that has already been posted then a forum isn't the right place for you. You should find a chat room or something else where history isn't kept.

You don't lose storage space when using a rom installed into a slot. The space is just reported in accurately. This has been discussed multiple times in this thread. Why can't people be bothered to actually read the thread post?

If there is not a nightly some night it probably is because there was an error when the build bot tried to build the nightly. There is no retry if it fails. A one of the commits that day probably broke it and someone will work on fixing it the next day.

You can use the new 3.5 that Hashcode just posted. I upgraded to it and it is working fine. No point in using an old version. Usually by the time Hashcode posts about a new version it is pretty solid and ready to be used.

Usually a lowercase b means bits and an uppercase B is for bytes. How is it written where you saw the speed labeled?

I think the slot limitations for kexec builds is because of something in the current version of Safestrap. Hashcode has said that he is working on version 3.5 that should allow for kexec builds to be in any slot.

Did you use rom slot 1 like the directions say?

I doubt the bootloader has anything to do with it. It sounds like a hardware problem, possibly the ribbon cable for the screen coming loose. If that is the problem you could try taking the phone apart to see if it is loose and disconnect and reconnect it to see if that helps.

If you use Safestrap you can easily switch back and forth between CM9 and stock. This way you can be on the more stable stock rom when you need it for work but can also use CM9 when you don't need it for work. It only takes a couple of minutes to switch and that is because it needs to back up...

I have had the problem of no sound during phone calls and have been able to get it working by turning Bluetooth on and back off. Has anyone else who has had this problem tried this? If so did it work for you?
