I know the process of installing magisk root. Just the system is not working properly after flashing. Does anybody using new v18.0 of magisk correctly with Oreo? I have twrp by Pretoriano80 & zxz000

DallasCZ, which version of twrp r u using? And which version of magisk? I rooted with the newest v18.0 but got some serious issues. I am on Oreo stock.

[email protected], try rollback with FF. I had also Oreo on my VTR-09 and i did rollback to Nougat with FF app from Playstore with erecovery method. You need change DNS of your router but detail instructions are inside the app. Then i got unlock code from DC-unlocker ;)

ok, lets assume speedmod kernel is better than Damian's kernel but why do you think its better because of ext4? maybe speedmod kernel with ext2 would be even better than sppedmod with ext4...

mumbozver, why are you using rfs for SYSTEM? wouldnt be better use ext2 for all 3 partitions?

thanks for info. i have tried it use nilfs2 on cache partition only and the quadrant result was worse than all 3 partitions with ext4. also somebody else on xda forum wrote it is not too good use different file systems because its needed more resources for that so the performance will be lower...

is anybody using nilfs2 with success? I have tried it, all partiotions went successfully to nilfs2 but I get force closes all the time so my phone was unusable. I had to convert to ext2 and then was everything ok

I am not satisfied with jfs as well. I have lost not only timezone and language but bluetooth settings as well (I lost my paired bt devices). my opinion is apocalypse rom shoud have all partitions ext2 by default because it is faster than ext4

why do u think so? ext2 is faster than ext4 at least in the phones on NAND-based flash memory). there are many posts in SGS forums about that. also i saw the benchmark where ext2 was winner. do u prefer ext4 because of journaling?

anyway i dont think its same if i delete .apk + odex files from /data/app as i uninstall it with titanium backup. i think TB will be delete also data stored by the app inside the database (its the place where the apps are saving data, settings, etc...)

r u sure? i dont think so... if u kill apps running on background, they will reload later again itself. and killing and reloading apps all the time is consuming battery

if u install .apk from market it will be stored and installed in /data/app in phone memory. i do not think it is stored twice in the phone.
