Post Using the SHV-E160L in Canada [ICS][Root][CWM][SMS]

Unfortunately, this 70 character limit is coded into the Korean operating system and I haven't found a way to get past it... yet. The Chinese appear to be cooking up a custom ROM that uses the American operating system as its base which could get around that SMS character limit, will update when...

Thread Fixing Touchkey Issues for the SHV-E160L

Continuing on from my earlier post on how to make the Korean Galaxy Note work in Canada, I'll continue on some troubleshooting you can do with a custom firmware I found on KOXDA. First, make sure you have a nandroid backup, if not I'd recommend following the guide I made here to install CWM...

Post Using the SHV-E160L in Canada [ICS][Root][CWM][SMS]

Post Using the SHV-E160L in Canada [ICS][Root][CWM][SMS]

I'd suggest flashing the tegrak recovery file for the E160S followed by the samsung160recovery, which should give you CWM at which point you can update CWM and root the phone. However, I have no idea if it'll work, so make sure to have a stock ROM on hand in case things go south for you.

    Post [Q]

It seems to have worked :D Thank you so much, the start screen now has a pink logo instead of the normal samsung splash screen but I don't care :D Edit: My happiness was a bit premature, although the phone now starts up and most things work, the home and return keys do not respond though they...
