    Post [ROOT] - HOWTO - AS993 (WIP)

I'm sorry to say this, but you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I saw the reviews of the camera quality and it doesn't even come close to most flagships. I downloaded the sample photos from a review and the photos barely looks better than the one's I took from my Huawei P8...

Yeah I think the SD 660 has the Adreno 512 which is indeed significantly slower than the one found in the SD 821. Even if the 675 was faster, it would still be a huge downgrade to the Note 7 Pro imo.

    Post [ROOT] - HOWTO - AS993 (WIP)

LOL, I haven't checked the benchmarks yet. I assumed it was faster because the SD 660 edges out the 821 in Multi-Core benchmarks.

    Post [ROOT] - HOWTO - AS993 (WIP)

LOL, how does it pawn an LG G6 in every way? It's inferior in pretty much everything(display, build quality, camera despite it being 48mp, etc) except maybe performance (cause of the newer SD675) and the battery life. Other than that, the Redmi Note 7 pro would be a downgrade.

    Post [GCam] [Wide Angle] LG G5,LG G6,LG V20,LG V30 - v4.2

Can someone please share their settings for GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.4.032219.1950.apk? I've played around with everything, but in every scenario Cstark's 4.2t3 performs much better especially in low light. The gap in quality is quite significant. I'm using a LG G6 H870 running stock Oreo.

This, in conjunction with changing the screen's resolution to 1080p also significantly improves battery life.

    Post [ROOT] - HOWTO - AS993 (WIP)

Same here. I already disabled almost everything in LG's skin including that Smart Doctor app and the phone has been smooth and lag free. Can't wait to to test this and flash a custom ROM with a custom Kernel and Viper cause my phone feels empty without it.

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Not all H870's can be unlocked. That only applies to the EU H870. Those from other regions can't be unlocked officially.

    Post [ROOT] - HOWTO - AS993 (WIP)

I don't really understand since I'm still a noob lol But I have the South African H870 which I assumed have the exact same hardware as the EU version. Also, I saw a custom kernel for the H870 so maybe that would work?

    Post [ROOT] - HOWTO - AS993 (WIP)

Hi Brian I just wanted to ask why the H870 would require a custom kernel to unlock the bootloader? Also, if this method works with my H870 would it be safe to flash a custom ROM?

I'll follow this thread. Hope it works on the H870.

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

That's great! So once he's done all he needs is to ask someone who unlocked their H870 to send them the unlock.bin file then I'll be able to root?
  14. 9

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Oh I see. But I thought the unlock.bin is device specific since it uses it's IMEI and Device I.D?

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

So it'll need a donor phone which hasn't been unlocked yet? But if this is doable it'll be amazing. I just want AOSP and a sound mod like Viper and Ainur Sauron then I'll be happy. I'm not too happy with the phone's sound output. Hopefully I'll tweak everything the way I want when the...

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

I have the H870, but because I live in South Africa I can't unlock. Hopefully Brian's method would work with my variant as well. Also, none of our cellular networks use CDMA as far as I remember so it shouldn't be an issue.

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Yeah I was annoyed when I switched off my phone to charge it only to see it turn on and boot into the system. I absolutely love this phone, but LG's skin ruins it for me. I bought it like a week ago and it's already lagging meanwhile my midrange Huawei P8 Lite 2017 runs rock solid on a custom...

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Yeah it's awful. I can't believe a phone with a Snapdragon 821 can stutter this much. Even Subway Surfers stutters a lot which is unacceptable. If there's a way to unlock the bootloader I'll instantly get rid of LG's heavy skin.

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Hopefully it works. I'm even willing to risk bricking because I don't see myself sticking to LG's skin for too long.

Hello Brian Would this method work with the H870 as well?
  21. 9

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

I have the H870 which has lots of custom ROMS. The reason I can't unlock is because of my region. But from what I've read is that my H870 has the exact same hardware of the European model.

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Looks like we'll hopefully be able to root and install custom ROMS?
  23. 9

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

True. LG's skin makes this phone lag and rhe front camera is atrocious. Luckily I tried out some GCAM ports which makes a huge difference. I have the H870, but can't root due to my region. If this project is a success I'm instantly installing a custom ROM.

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

I hope there's a way for our G6's to be unlocked. LG's skin slows down this phone so a custom ROM would be perfect.

This is what I also thought. I hope there would be an unofficial way cause I do not want to stay on the stock ROM.

Post [GUIDE] Official LG G6 Bootloader Unlock (Currently supported: EU H870, USA US997)

Hi everyone. So I have the H870, but I'm from South Africa. Will I be able to unlock my bootloader if I flash the EU KDZ to my device and then try that way?
  27. 9

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

But will I be able to unlock if I flash the EU KDZ? Because I've been looking around threads and some people said it's impossible to unlock. I think I'll give it a shot though.
  28. 9

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Okay I'm busy downloading the H870 EU KDZ. I'll flash it later. Will I lose my data if I flash?

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

It's definitely the H870. The reason I can't unlock is because of my region.

Post Root for all models that don't have it...

Hi everyone. Just wanted to know if there would be a way to unlock my H870? I live in South Africa and it said my variant doesn't support unlocking, but I can at least enter fastboot and use commands. Hope there's a way for me to unlock because I'd like to install AOSP.

Here's what I did to finally make it boot up. I unpacked both the stock kernel and the custom kernel images and then I copied the zImage from the custom kernel and replaced the stock zImage, repacked and flashed and it worked like a charm!

I've never tried this on emui as I've never really used it. I got rid of it the instant I got this phone so I've just been using custom ROMS I'm currently on OpenKirin Resurrection Remix which runs perfect. All that's left is a custom kernel cause I'd like those extra features. I hope I can get...

I have tried just about every way to get this working, but it always bootloops. It just stucks at the 'your device is unlocked and can't be trusted " and stays there for a few minutes and then reboots. I mainly want to use this ROM for the Dual Speaker Mod. Is there any way to enable Dual...

Post (help) Need Firmware File for bricked P8 Lite(2017)

Thank you. I ended up buying DC Phoenix and unbricking my device. But I saw the file you linked me to is Android 8.0. My question is can I use that file to upgrade? I'm on EMUI 5.1 at the moment. And if so, which tool should I use to flash the file in the link?

It does? Cause once I tried to upgrade from the internal storage with the NoCheckRecovery and ended up bricking my device so badly that I had to unbrick with DC Phoenix using testpoints.
