I tried flashing again with the default installation defaults and that worked. I guess if you do a dirty flash (no wipe), you better not change the setup configuration.

ok, I installed Nougat from SamMobile, incl bootlader, modem, etc. After that I reinstalled TWRP. And then version 9.0 and now it is working.

I did an upgrade from 8.23 to 9.0 without the full wipe. Also stuck at Samsung bootlogo, so I went back to 8.23. I guess you first have to flash the original Nougat version from Sammobile and then try again?

Yeah, sorry. I didn't expect that that would fix this boot problem, because this restore already has superSU installed.
