Post lg v20 h990n (HKG) getting Oreo Update

Just make sure that "check automatically for updates" is enabled and wait until your phone prompts you to update. Download is very slow for me too, been downloading for over 4 hours and at 23%. So i would advise against forcing an update. And against updates from other sources.

    Post Imacwear vs Truesmart

The TrueSmart is not ip67 certified. The official procedures for IPxx certification were not followed. Your watch will break and you will not get any kind of service, repairs, guarantee or money back from Omate.

    Post Quick Charge

I've just switched from an Asus ZenFone 2 to a G4. On the ZenFone you can see when it's quickcharging by a little + in the battery. This phone doesn't officially support Qualcomm quickcharge, since it has an Atom processor, but it works with several quickcharge chargers i own: Transmart, Aukey...

Post [Q] How to root Asus Memo Pad 7 (me572c) 2014 version

Thanks. It seems like there's no need for me to root after all. I only rooted my android devices for write access to the external SD card and auto backup of apps and settings with ROM toolbox pro. The external SD access was fixed in 5.0 Lollipop (i got firmware .19 preinstalled) and by now all...

Thanks to xda-log for the pre-rooted firmware. My Memo pad 7 me572c should arrive by post in a few hours and i'll try it right away. I've also read some comments about a zenfone root app that was ably to root. Does anyone have any experience with that? Let's hope the tablet gets Marshmallow...

    Post Omate TrueSmart+ and TrueSmart-i

Yeah, how dare they. The TrueSmart has always been a broken product. Now they say since it's over 2 years old, software development has ended. As if it was ever finished in the first place! Don't waste your money on the crap from Omate, people. Their products are broken and their hardware specs...

Thread Rebranded TrueSmart announced by Dogee. New firmware ahead?

A company called Dogee just announced a "new" smartwatch, which looks afwully familiar. The question is: will it have new, better firmware? A Lollipop rom would be awesome and i'd dare call their rom even more official than the crappy "official" Omate rom. Then again, they might just ship the...

Post Android Wear for Samsung Gear S

You were definitely right to not have any faith in Omate. I'd advice anyone to buy the TrueSmart second hand if you want it, to be sure it's a functioning unit. I also love how i don't have to carry my big heavy smartphone with me during sports. I like sea sailing, so no cell coverage there. But...

Towelroot was based on a vulnerability that was patched long ago. Use another method such as cf autoroot. Rooting without tripping knox is not possible anymore. And always read through the last few pages of a thread before posting. Complaining that a root method doesn't work that has been...

Post Android Wear for Samsung Gear S

The hardware quality is fine, but the software, well, Android isn't really meant for such a small low-res display and Omate's software support is crappy. So my advice is if the Gear S offers all the apps you need, definitely get a gear s. If you want the full android play store catalog and...

Lol they even copied the incorrect specs and false promises: 1000 MHz = 800 MHz 5mp camera = 3mp (with software upscaling to 5mp if they also copied truesmart firmware) Micro SD card slots: well i don't think it has multiple slotS, but even accessing the one microsd slot breaks all...

I have an Omate TrueSmart. Post [Q] Opening task switcher takes very long (2-4 seconds) on 5.0 Lollipop SM-G900F

Touchwiz is a bit of a memory leak on itself, but i think the memory leak doesn't just affect nexus phones, but also the Galaxy S5. When i look in my memory manager, with only a few small open apps (totalling less than 200mb) my memory is almost full, 1.4 /1.67gb used. I don't know if that's...

Post [Q] Real silent mode in Lollipop? [Also Whatsapp/Viber Priority Interruptions Issue]

It can be much worse. On the galaxy S5, with the latest official lollipop rom, there is no silent mode, no priority mode, no profiles, nothing. Just vibrate or sound. I left a question about it on the S5 q&a forum hoping I'm wrong, but i think it's completely missing.

Post Question about the 5.3v charger

The voltage drop is dependant on gauge, copper quality and length. I never measured it at both ends but i estimate 0.3-0.5 volt based on what chargers do and don't charge what phones at 10ft. Note that i mixed up ft and metres lol, my cables are 3m. At that length voltage drop is an issue for...
  40. pizzaman79

Post Question about the 5.3v charger

I'm afraid not. The voltage will drop too far below 5.0V, the device will not accept the offered power, no matter how high the charging current. That's both based on physics and personal experience. Resistance in cables is an issue at 10 metres, even those with high gauge copper cores.
