Is the new battery an actual Samsung one? Is it actually "new?" If possible I would try to get an actual Samsung battery, my OEM one died from age and I tried to replace it with a fake (IDK which one) and it also caused flickering and restarts. Sorry, I didn't explain very well. I have the speakers of my car plugged in like headphones and that's it. I use the phone microphone and everyone can hear me fine. I have been using CM9 since this issue got fixed and am currently on 7/8's version.

AFAIK the only way to get on screen buttons is to drop the DPI low enough that you get ICS tablet mode. This can be done by changing the build.prop to something like 250* (I don't recall where the switchover actually occurs though). *213 according to kchris below! Thanks kchris.

Definitely using the tablet version. On the left of my spacebar there is 123 (number keyboard with a swiftkey symbol on it) and a ',' with a microphone on it. Maybe its because I am using CM9?

Nope... You are all set. Just make sure they DO NOT change your data plan to a tiered one if you go in and talk to them (I just did it without telling ATT anything). There is a good post on how to set it up on XDA for use on AT&T with the APN and such if you buy one!

I am in the same boat. Before I upgraded to the newest abyss kernal I could get 1600 on stock voltages but now I can't get past 1500. I think that just might be the highest that your phone and my phone can go on this kernal!
