    Today , while I was looking into the Developer Settings and checked the "Show Borders" option , my phone had frozen and rebooted itself . This has never happened before . The phone is 4 months old . I am running the XXEMB5 firmware . Looks like a SDS symptom ?

    If a half sudden death syndrom occurs and the device is running a custom rom / kernel , does the flash counter says 1,2,3 etc. ? Or just the usual no name , status : custom ?

    If you want an uptaded kernel (update 8) you can use temasek's ROM with his kernel . It is very fast and reliable ROM .

    Forgot to say that I reflashed it 3 times with odin and also factory reseted it ... But ,no problem , I am amused too :D

    My phone is constantly freezing ... touch wiz crashes every 20-30 seconds ... I gues this is the end for my phone :) . I hope it doesn't suffer that much ... The phone isnt rooted and it is running a I9300XXELLC firmware .

    1) Go to GooglePlay store and type terminal 2) download Android terminal emulator 3) run it 4) type : su 5) give permisions (simply click allow) 6) type : cat /sys/class/block/mmcblk0/device/movi_ops 7) it will give you a value of 0 (not affected) , 2 (affected)

    Is the old 4.0.4 bootloader safe for use ? If it is ,I think ,then the best compilation is : 1) 4.0.4 bootloader 2) root 3) custom recovery (with custom kernel) 4) custom kernel In that case ,if your phone dies and it is able to go into download mode ,samsung will never know that you've rooted...

    Well , if you think racht is wrong , go ahead . . . and I'm 99% shure that you will f*ck your warranty . It's kind of logical , you enter the IMEI , they know wich phone is yours (your country , NAME etc.) and they will cut off your warranty . Maybe , there is a way to fool that SE IMEI system ?

    You must have xrecovery on your device . You must unrar this into your sdcard/xrecovery/backup . When you go into xrecovery , go to backup and restore --> restore ---> and you select the folder . EDIT : Boshe was faster xD .
