I think when its in manual mode, you dont get access to the full range of brightness, only after putting it into autobrightness mode. Perhaps Samsungs way of not letting the phone get too hot and igniting like the Note 7?

The included cable charger that mine came with charges fast like that, I let it charge slow with standard USB port overnight, but the included charger nd included cable should achieve this. The cable is important.

Could it be that you're using the note2 during the in the winter and the gs3 summer that the gs3 appears to run hotter? I run the GN2 in summer here and it does appear to be warming up a bit, more then I'd like it to be (it feels warm in the hand)

I think if you need to go out of your way to find a screen "defect" the it really isn't a defect at all worth worrying about. Nobody is immune from these defects, even apple who are known to pay a premium for lcd panels from manufacturing companies get duds (light bleed from LG). Not a big issue...

What charge cables are you guys using? FWIW, I found I can charge the note2 with the supplied cable using my 2A ipad charger.... I use my PC normally though, let it charge overnight (500mah x 6-7hrs) seems to do the job

I found the chrome browser slow on the note. By slow I mean slow to track the finger as you scroll pages. No idea why, I only experience this on the note 2, chrome and other phones like galaxy s3 were fine.. Maybe just my phone perhaps..
