my display way too bright, when lowering the brightness to the minimum, its still relatively bright enough. some note 2 displays I've seen had a different brightness than mine even though both levels were same for both phones. its an amoled thing.

That explains! I never found such lines on a Made in Korea unit; not even on a China unit. I went through dozens of Galaxy Notes Made In Vietnam and found the lines were very visible.

@SrAdama, can you please tell me where is your Galaxy Note 2 made in? You can find this information by removing the battery and looking at the white sticker affixed to back of your phone. Please let me know. Thank you. Edit: Also, please tell me when you purchased your Note 2, thanks again.

well i went through an galaxy s2 made in china, had a crappy display with a rounded coin structure to the top right of the screen, went to note 1, and boy were there uniformity issues in terms of brightness and color display (made in vietnam), i saw a made in korea (1st batch) galaxy note 2...

people don't use their AMOLED at high brightness because its already too bright, even at 20% thats my opinion

it clearly depends on country of origin where the phone was made in.

I have to agree. I've seen the January 2012 Black and White stocks as well. The only issue I see is yellow tint; hopefully that is software-related. Hopefully ICS resolves the clipping to some extent in addition to the firmware update Samsung is suppose to distribute around the world soon...

I apologize, we wouldn't be discussing these screen issues if Samsung prioritized quality control over profit. :)

Always Positive... However, you can definitely appreciate the fact that the White Note has a better display than the Black. Horizontal lines or not, they definitely display less on the White compared to the Black. Hope to see more pictures soon! :D

Same here, never quite corrected the black clipping the way I wanted it to be, makes the display more lcdish and the performance haults :confused:

don't know if my eyes are playing me, I do see a couple of horizontal lines, I don't know if that is due to the screen protector or the angle the picture was taken from, don't wanna scare you, but I am hoping that the next wave of batches have a better production like the S2.

Thanks a lot! Do you have a screen protector applied on top of that? I see something that looks like mura lines. I'm sure those are not mura lines but the way the camera was focused on the screen. Also that display brightness was set to the lowest, right? It would be great to see more users...

Beware of the fakes! Guys, a lot of things on eBay are cheap, counterfeit, ripped off products. I would strongly advice to proceed with any purchases WITH CAUTION! I don't buy expensive items like these on eBay anymore. :cool:

No regrets at all, the hold and feel of it is perfect! The only problems I dislike are the quality control issues that Samsung doesn't give attention to. :(
