Hey make sure you clarify that you installed this new firmware on the new 7.1 unit. I can already see a bunch of people trying to install this on a 4.4 unit and bricking it. Just trying to avoid confusion from people that just glance at the tread and arnt following it.

I have asked several people but no-one is willing to give it at this time .They are still kinda new though so hopefully once more people start receiving them one will slip out.

Likely never. that would be a better question for avin. None of us develop for them. I was told a few days they aren’t going to upgrade past 4.4.4 and with new 7.1 units coming out I’m sure they aren’t going to be working on them anymore.

Hello, I realize that I didn't purchase my head unit from you but im assuming that you are working for androidautoshop. If you would be able to send me a copy of the 7.1 firmware that would be greatly appreciated. Im interested in testing a few lacking audio aspects from the avin units.

Ive never done it myself but it looks like there are a few tutorials online to do so. I wouldn't want anything to break with your tablet so It would likely be easier just to message the seller and say the head unit is messing up and see if they will send you the stock img file.

Is there any way you can try and get a copy of the rom they used so i can play around with it on my avin unit? Im wondering if i delete a bunch of google crap if ill be able to keep the ram from maxing out... Unlikely but worth a shot

So watch this video and do just like this guy does. You have to click about in the Android auto app, then click the bar at the top like 7 or 8 times to unlock developer settings. Then turn on head unit server and make sure you change it to developer mode in the settings like the guy did...

So you have to enable the server on your phone in the anddoid auto app . then you have to connect the avin unit to the phones hot spot. Then open the head unit reloaded app on the avin unit and click the wifi button

Check out headunit reloaded. The paid version cost 8 dollars but i bought it and it works pretty solid for android auto as long as you have an android phone.

Im assuming that youre not rooted. If that is the case the old ruu will not work. There is no way to downgrade back to 2.2. The ruu program will give you an error and if you try and flash the pc36img file through your bootloader it wont work either.

If you have 2.2 root it and run a custom rom and youll have no problems. If you were wondering about the sense reloading issue its still there. I had about 2 in all my months of owning a shift then i had to send it back cause it broke and now i have 2.3.3 and I've had about a dozen in a week...
