Post [Oct. 12 2012 update] Benefits of International Samsung Galaxy S3 for US (AT&T) users

Just FYI: After only about 2 months of enjoying Medianet on my international I9300, I got the dreaded "Did you know a data plan is required for your smartphone" text from AT&T.

Post [Oct. 12 2012 update] Benefits of International Samsung Galaxy S3 for US (AT&T) users

The pricing difference is substantial. Straight talk was $48.xx per month (tax included), at&t $79.xx with the 450 minute package. But the frequent data outages on straight talk simply made it a non starter for me.

Post [Oct. 12 2012 update] Benefits of International Samsung Galaxy S3 for US (AT&T) users

I would advise you not to do this. I just went back to medianet after a two month stint with straight talk. 2 things i noticed: 1) They do throttle you when you get up over 2gb. I was consistently recording 128k download speeds right before i bailed. And no, contrary to what you may read...

with 450 minutes, unlimited data and messaging, $69.00 + tax&fees (total $79) for me breaks down as $39.99 for the 450 minutes voice, + $30 for the 'medianet' unlimited data&messaging plan

Post Any i9300 users using straight talk?

I can also vouch for straight talk on the I9300. I switched a couple weeks ago and the service has been great, have gotten data speed as high as 7mb in some areas. I deleted proxy but left in the mms apn settings.

Post [RoM]UCLD3 Official ATT "Leak" !CLOSED! because TW sucks!

First, Thanks Task, this is awesome! 2nd, I found what might be a bug or a problem with my router (WNDR3300): If the phone has been asleep, it doesn't reconnect to wifi upon waking. However, turning off wifi and then turning it back on triggers it to reconnect. Has anyone else had this issue?

Post [Q] GALAXY S2 thinks its PLUGGED IN WHEN IT ISNT!! help please

Mine was doing the same thing, as well as going into "car mode" randomly and freezing up completely. I found a thread that suggested swabbing out the port with rubbing alcohol and a small paint brush. I did that and it cured the problem, but I also bought a case that covers the usb port...

Post Anyone else almost out of memory on the internal SD? - Update problem found.

First of all, the newer cards supposedly have updated their firmware so it's not an issue anymore. So if you have a newly purchased card from a supplier with fresh stock I doubt this would apply. But for anyone having corruption issues it may be worth a try. Here is a link to a related...

Post Anyone else almost out of memory on the internal SD? - Update problem found.

Sirooga, There is a known problem with some 32gb class 10 cards corrupting data in android phones. The workaround is to format it with a windows pc. Do a full format, not a quick one, and the important part is to set the cluster size to 32kb. After that it put it back in the phone and all...

    Post Inconsistent LTE network connection?

After going through three phones and sim cards on Verizon's LTE network, I gave up, and came back to AT&T. If they had that case hanging on the wall of an AT&T store I'm sure it would be $25.00! and BTW it fits much better than the AGS case I bought when I got the phone.

    Post galaxy SII skyrocket

+1 I just switched back to AT&T after a three months of torture with the 4G Verizon Samsung Droid Charge. "features" I noticed: - overall crappy battery life, but if you were "lucky" enough to be in a 4g area, your battery would literally drop 10% per hour with light usage. - your 4g or 3g...

Post [Q] Keep burning out SDs - need advise ....

It is a problem with the interaction between android and some firmwares in the sdhc cards. It isn't really something that is Samsung specific. I did some research on it and it solved my problem (similar to yours) that I had with my PNY 32gb class 10 card. I would definitely try formatting...

Post [Q] Keep burning out SDs - need advise ....

Just out of curiosity, are these 32gb cards? Android has a known issue with 32gb cards getting corrupted if they are not formatted with a 32kb allocation size. The workaround is to re format the card with your windows PC to FAT32, 32kb allocation size. Do a full format, not the quick format.

Post 4G LTE Data Connection "Stall"

The data will stop. Then the 4g or 3g icon will disappear entirely for a minute. Then it will reconnect at either 4g,3g or 1x, I don't really see a clear pattern, it seems totally random to me.

Just FYI from my short experience with the Charge: For everyone having battery drain issues, the one single thing that helps the most for me was shutting off Wifi when not in use.
