When I install this and CM9 gapps, there is no native camera app. Is his normal? I can download one but I thought one was suppose to come with the ROM.

I just installed this rom, but the device drivers were not working, so my computer could not access the phone's hard drive. I uninstalled the drivers and re-installed them and am having the same problem. What might the issue be? Do I need to install the drivers for the international gs2?

The number of pixels is the same, though the SR's screen is bigger so the resolution is worse. It is not nearly as hackable, because the only similar device is T-Mobile's GS2. The international GS2 is similar to AT&T's GS2 so there will always be much more hacking going on with it than the SR.

Try another modem. KB1 should only be used if the other four CM7 captivate modems don't work. Unless you have to, don't use KB1. I use JK3. Actually you should try all 4 and see which gives you the fastest connection and best GPS signal. Your problem sounds like it is nothing more than a modem...

I think I like CM7 more. Miui is too much like an iphone. I think thats what they are trying to copy. For example, rather than have an app drawer, you have to store your apps in folders on the homescreen, just like on the iphone.

Do you guys prefer CM7 or Miui? I have been on CM7 for a few weeks and just flashed Miui. They are both 2.3.3 android although CM7 is closer to stock AOSP. I can see some benefits with both roms, and am wondering what others think.

If I UV 1.3 ghz more than 1.2 ghz I can get it to work, although no matter how I tweak it, neocore causes the phone to crash. I have tried just about every setting I can and nothing gets it to work.

I cleared the UV settings I was using on v3.5. I installed both versions of 4.1, and in both cases, when I used the Voltage Control app to set the processor to OC to 1.3ghz, the phone crashed as soon as the setting was applied. There was no UVing so it must be an issue with the kernel.

What is the difference between v4.1 100 and v4.1 1000? Is one more powerful in some way?

Captivate already has GB, through CM7.

CM7 for captivate is pretty stable. If you want better battery life, get TheEscapist's kernel and UV it.

I would recommend a Galaxy S. The bootloaders are unlocked and it now has a functional CM7 version. Plus, nothing beats the Super AMOLED screen.

It is very stable. I would recommend using TheEscapist's kernel, which lets you OC and UV. By UVing I actually get better battery life out of it than I did the 2.2 roms.

The bootloader story was a hoax, it wasn't unlocked and probably never will be. I would stay away from all Motorola phones because they all have locked and encrypted bootloaders. Other than the original droid, you probably won't be able to flash custom roms on any of them.

Motorola is too committed to their bootloaders not being crackable. Just pick another phone for your next one.

Make sure you are using v3.5. v4 is buggy apparently.

Neither are really faster, but you have to be careful because i9000 kernels are often incompatible with captivates and your phone will behave strangely if you flash the wrong kernel.

Odd as it sounds, my battery life on CM7 is close to 50% better when it is OC'ed to 1.2 ghz and UV'ed than it was on the froyo ROMs under the same conditions.
