When I install this and CM9 gapps, there is no native camera app. Is his normal? I can download one but I thought one was suppose to come with the ROM.

    Post [ROM][PORT] CM9 for I777 [3-23-2012 Update] - No Screen on/off

I just installed this rom, but the device drivers were not working, so my computer could not access the phone's hard drive. I uninstalled the drivers and re-installed them and am having the same problem. What might the issue be? Do I need to install the drivers for the international gs2?

    Post Skyrocket Envy?

The number of pixels is the same, though the SR's screen is bigger so the resolution is worse. It is not nearly as hackable, because the only similar device is T-Mobile's GS2. The international GS2 is similar to AT&T's GS2 so there will always be much more hacking going on with it than the SR.

Post Skyrocket gets 2.3.6, why GS2 still on 2.3.4?

You can have 2.3.7 right now, and probably 4.0 within a couple weeks, if you root and get Cyanogenmod.

    Post Skyrocket Envy?

the GS2 is as fast as the skyrocket, despite having a lower clock speed. The reason is the superior GS2 processor. Also, the GPU on the GS2 is superior, so despite similar speed, graphics are much better (and not choppy) on the GS2 than the skyrocket. The skyrocket will never be as hackable as...

Post My Galaxy S II Skyrocket Review

I used it briefly two different days, and did notice the lag every time. After going through the comments here, many others seem to have noticed it as well. The GPU is certainly inferior and there certainly is a lag, whether one notices it always or not. I use to have a captivate and the hspa+...

Post [Q] Use Captivate Jig on GS2?

I emailed some people and it looks like there have been some changes. I have also seen many people post that they tried a Captivate jig on a GS2 and it often doesn't work. It looks like, if your jig is more than a couple months old, you should get a new one.

    Post Gs2 or skyrocket?

I was set on getting a skyrocket a week ago. I now have a GS2. I researched the differences, which at first looked like the skyrocket had the better case. Researching it, I realized that the GS2 has the far better case, even if you don't want to root and flash roms (though if you do, with SR you...

    Post Buy now or wait

With android, you can't wait until the a 'newer' phone comes out because they come out every month. Might as well start the clock ticking now towards when you can upgrade 15 months from now. I was going to get the skyrocket, but researched the differences and went with the regular GS2. The LTE...

Post My Galaxy S II Skyrocket Review

I was going to get a skyrocket until I researched the differences between it and i777. The LTE is only so much of a positive, especially since you should use wifi whenever you can. Some guy on another thread used 6gb over LTE in a week, which is enough to get you throttled. Someone commented...

Thread [Q] Use Captivate Jig on GS2?

I just replaced my Captivate with an AT&T Galaxy S 2. I had a jig that I bought from mobiletechvideos.com for the captivate. Will that jig work on my Galaxy S 2? Also, will it work on Sprint's Galaxy S 2 Epic Touch 4g? Or are there design differences between the jigs so some won't work on all...

Post [Q]Buy this or wait for Galaxy Nexus

There are several reasons not to go with the galaxy nexus. It doesn't have the true Super AMOLED screen that the gs2 has, so the screen will be duller. The screen doesn't have gorilla glass, so it will be more likely to break or shatter. The larger screen may be nice if you like it, but it means...

I had that same problem with my captivate, and didn't realize at the time that mine didn't come with the 3 button fix either. No matter what I UV to (even if I don't UV at all) the phone is unstable at 1.3 ghz. Sometimes it will last a little longer before a crash, but it always crashes before too long. I am going to stick with v3.5 for now.

Post [Kernel][CM7][July 12]Le kernel du jour Build #6

It seems like the phone becomes much less stable (when running neocore) when the battery has less power left in it. It was. For some reason, if I went into CM settings right after the phone booted up, the settings reverted to 1200 mhz and "ondemand", but if I waited a minute or so until all of the widgets were up as usual before checking cm settings, the correct settings (1300mhz and "conservative") were in...

Post [Kernel][CM7][July 12]Le kernel du jour Build #6

For some reason, when I go to cm settings and set max cpu to 1300 mhz and governor from "ondemand" to "conservative", sometimes when I reboot (though not always; probably about half the time) the settings restore to their original 1200 mhz and "ondemand". What could cause this?

Post [Kernel][CM7][July 12]Le kernel du jour Build #6

The UV settings do save upon reboot however. I am not sure what...

Post [Kernel][CM7][July 12]Le kernel du jour Build #6

I tried that on the new v4.2 also. I tried several different settings, mostly with 1300mhz UVed 50 more than 1200mhz, which worked with v3.5. They were stable, until I tried neocore, which forced the phone to crash each time. When I tried the settings that worked for you, I was able to keep...

    Post CM7 vs Miui

I think I like CM7 more. Miui is too much like an iphone. I think thats what they are trying to copy. For example, rather than have an app drawer, you have to store your apps in folders on the homescreen, just like on the iphone.

Post [Kernel][CM7][July 12]Le kernel du jour Build #6

I cleared the UV settings I was using on v3.5. I installed both versions of 4.1, and in both cases, when I used the Voltage Control app to set the processor to OC to 1.3ghz, the phone crashed as soon as the setting was applied. There was no UVing so it must be an issue with the kernel.

Post Advice/opinions on switching from Ispire to Atrix

The bootloader story was a hoax, it wasn't unlocked and probably never will be. I would stay away from all Motorola phones because they all have locked and encrypted bootloaders. Other than the original droid, you probably won't be able to flash custom roms on any of them.
