There are no additional screen transitions in the stock launcher, but it's not hard to use a custom launcher.

I'm not complaining about anything. I was just giving my own experiences and info for someone that had a quick question concerning whether or not the live wallpapers were working for everyone else.

I just did a clean install of the 8/6 nightly and tested the ROM-included live wallpapers with no apps other than the Banks core gapps. Each of the wallpapers forced closed for me. Again, I only tried the wallpapers included in the ROM (I don't think four colors was included).

Just extract "deskclock.apk" from system/apps in the 11/20 rom using root explorer or a similar explorer, copy it into the system/apps folder in your current rom, set the proper permissions & reboot. You might have to clear data for the app if it force closes at first.

I just put pressure on the button for a while, & if it required any more pressure to work I'd say it wasn't sensitive enough. I think it's just right for me.

Like the others said, if you don't have a nandroid backup, just do a full wipe & flash unnamed. I'm pretty sure it will flash the modem that unnamed comes with, but you wouldn't have to worry about modems anyway.

You can try plugging in the phone before starting heimdall. Or use adb to get into download mode & see if it recognizes it that way. It took me a couple of tries on my Mac & I can't remember which method worked.

Go to your wireless and networks settings & you should be able to change your usb connectivity to either "ask every time" or "mass storage".

I've been using Fancy Widgets since I had my captivate, and it's been awesome. Also, no problems since I've been on ICS. The only reason I haven't tried Beautiful Widgets is because I had already paid for the Fancy Widgets Unlocker, but they seem pretty similar.

Whoa. It got crazy in here. Another good app is isyncr. It obviously won't synch drm protected files, but everything else is fine. Again, you lose the apps. I think there's also a paid version that synchs over wifi.

For me, Apex doesn't even show up as an active application. So when I go through the process that you mentioned, I get the home screen every time. Not sure why your phone would be doing that.
