When you flash something in hboot it should have a list of what it's updating. Therefore it should have only said recovery because that's all you were flashing. If this is the case, and you can get to hboot, try reflashing the recovery again, but redownload it from somewhere else. This...

I, personally, would root, but I haven't had an unrooted device in two years lol. I'm on gingerbread still, because every ICS rom I've tried hasn't been as stable or fast as my modified cm7. It's really up to you, but if you've had your last phone rooted, chances are you'll root this one...

Virtuous inquisition runs on the 3.24 firmware(I believe, haven't checked the thread in a few days,) so I would flash the 3.24 firmware. Firmware 3.24 and above isn't compatible with gb roms though, so you'd have to flash older firmware if you wanted to revert to gb afterwards. Hope I helped :)...

Go to wireless settings, then wifi settings, hit menu, advanced, then change sleep policy to never. For some reason cm7 doesn't default to this. Should help :-) Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
