Post [ROM][GT-I9100][JB][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 official nightlies // discussion thread

What's the difference between modems with RIL and without? - I've just downloaded a bunch of modems to try and some have RIL, while others do not. I've googled RIL, but don't understand whether I should go for RIL or RIL-FREE modems. Cheers. PS - is there a naming convention to modems? I am...

Post [ROM][GT-I9100][JB][4.3.0] CyanogenMod 10.2 official nightly builds // discussion

Gotcha! Oh, wait... How do I do that? (I'll post one within next 23.5 hrs, because I loose 30min everytime it happens. That is, of course, unless 3G is not working either, then I'll have to reboot, thereby loosing the logcat info....)

Post [ROM][GT-I9100][JB][4.3.0] CyanogenMod 10.2 official nightly builds // discussion

Great - it's not just me... I was beginning to think it was the capacitor inside the ph, which has been heavily reported to leak in the GS2 over time... Remembering of course, that this ph is now circa 2011.... I was also having issues with my 3G dropping and not recovering, even over several...

Post [MOD] Disable low battery, battery temperature pop-ups and full battery notification

Thanks. The UI / Status bar crashed, but the crash survived reboots. Not knowing what to do next I dirty flashed the same rom, hoping to restore things to normal. No change. I just did a factory reset. Lesson learned - don't be impatient - backup the SystemUI file as you suggested....

Post [MOD] Disable low battery, battery temperature pop-ups and full battery notification

I found it - and patched successfully. Now what do I do? How do I get it back onto my phone into the system/app path so it overwrties the original (circa 2008) file? And do I need to install/ run it?

    Post Jelly Bean and IMEI

Problem solved safely in under 30 secs with an inexpensive app on the Play store called GalaxySimUnlock. Has unlocked the IMEI, without changing it, and has survived multiple custom roms, and Sims from a variety of carrier's. I suggest anyone curious about it, read other Play store comments...

    Post Jelly Bean and IMEI

Ps - I have gone between ice cream sandwich and jelly bean a few times using a combo of OTAs, WUGs nexus toolkit, and ODIN. (I don't know if that has something to do with it). Also I have read about a possible fix called **** DoCoMo v3, but I am not confident using it as it's thread is full of...

G'day - I have a similar IMEI problem. I have a gnex from Vodafone Australia. I have rung them 6x on separate occasions to enquire about my IMEI unlock code, so I can use the phone with another carrier. The IMEI unlock code does not work (it says it is invalid). What am I supposed to do now...

Post Anyone replaced Gallery with Quickpic?

-anyone tried the renaming idea, as suggested? My guess is the two apps function differently and so google has changed our ability to use quickpic from the JB camera. Why? Think about it - if you use the camera from the lockscreen by swiping to the right, you can take a pic and review it...

    Thread Self-Modified ROM Flashing ('SYSTEM.IMG')

Does anyone know if I just flash the "SYSTEM.IMG" in the official download from google dev website, whether I will loose my user data? (I am going from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2, so all the other things should stay the same, no?)

Post Which Phone do I have? IMM76K: no 4.1.1 updates working)

Thank mate. I updated it manually, months ago. The Gnex is an awesome phone (I upgraded from a NEXUS S), and with stock jelly Bean (rooted) with stock kernel it runs smoothly and is stable. I miss rge Wolfson audio chip of the nexus s though bc audio recordings are terrible and crackling with...

Post Which Phone do I have? IMM76K: no 4.1.1 updates working)

No worries mate, this is my 2nd android phone (first was a nexus s). I learned a lot by rooting and playing with custom roms on that ph, but I have been really happy with stock jelly Bean on this (albeit rooted) device. Battery life is great, and it's a snappy phone with great features. FYI I...

Post Which Phone do I have? IMM76K: no 4.1.1 updates working)

I'm sorry, I can't remember what I did, but I fixed it that night, which now feels like months ago. I installed Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.2, on a pc and I know that that helped me speed up the process. You can't ruin anything unless you flash a rom not designed for the phone, or format the bios...

Post [Q] SUPERWIPE for NEXUS S?

Cool! - Thanks for the wipe all info. It seems that I have never wiped 'Boot' in CWM and i have gone through countless custom ROMS by different makers. Maybe that's the problem (I normally just do 'factory reset' and 'wipe Dalvik') Is it true that if you wipe 'boot' in CWM (or if using the...

Post You don't need to be fully stock to get and install a OTA

Re #1: Yep, root will be lost. You shouldn't loose and app / data. RE #2: You only loose data when you do 'wipe data' in CWM, which you should do when installing a new ROM. If you install 'Titanuim Backup' you can back up and then later restore all your APPs. After you back up APPs, you will...

    Post SD Writing Speeds

No - it seems to be a common thing. Mine is transferring all my movies back on after a fresh wipe and new ROM at 559kb/s right now. For some reason it was about 1.2 MB/s last night, but it is slower right now. I have tried putting it into aeroplane mode, but it has made no difference. I have...
