wifi hotspot doesn't work for me either on 2.6.12, whenever I try to turn it on it just stops and says "error" When I change my kernel to Siyah 2.6.9, it allows me to broadcast a SSID but no devices I connect to it have access to the internet....

You need to wait a while when you charge the phone before booting it up, the phone needs some time to get enough power to turn itself on without turning off immediately. after the battery cools down, it should still work, hopefully you won't need a new battery Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA App

I can confirm that method 3 (and I presume 4, as well) works for stock ROM after the OTA update to 2.3.6 Though after rooting with method 3, I got kicked back down to 2.3.4 and UCKH7..........which makes complete sense, lol
