That's a good idea. If it doesn't work then jtag is your only option (better than getting rid of phone). Mobiletechvideos can do it for you for $50 if you are located in us. Good luck

u can still get into download mode, thats a good sign. that means its not bricked YET. remember, as somebody said before "a brick is a brick" . no sign of life what so ever. try this webpage and follow the directions for getting "back to stock"...

i have tried going back to stock........odin runs completely and passes.......phones starts reboot......once past samsung logo, it shows cwm recovery pic for a sec from previous flash (which is wierd, since the phone must be back to stock)..........and goes black.......still able to go to...
