Post [How-to] Unlock bootloader on Verizon Pixel/XL

I am getting the Pixel 3 and want to give my Verizon Pixel XL to my son. My phone is rooted using Magisk and the bootloader is unlocked. Just want to be clear about what you posted. I can leave the bootloader unlocked and just sideload the October update and this will unroot the phone? If so...

Verizon Pixel XL - Can't get Chase Pay app to work. Detecting root. Hi. Was wondering if anyone else has gotten this app to work since the 9/2018 security update. In the past I would install the security update. Get into the phone. Delete the app's cache and data. Delete the app in...

Post Magisk and banking app - my story

This is annoying the hell out of me. I can't get Chase Pay to work. I've gone into Titanium backup and deleted the data for the app. Went into app settings and deleted the storage & cache for the app. Made sure the app is hidden in Magisk and made sure Magisk is hidden. Rebooted phone and...

Post TWRP 3.2.3-1 for Pixel Devices

I've been using the SUhide method. Bootable TWRP (not installing), systemless bin, then SU, then SUhide. Using that method I can see that the phone is rooted and it passes the safety net but I can't get Superuser to show.

    Post [2017.10.01] suhide-lite v1.09 [EXPERIMENTAL/UNSUPPORTED]

I'm rooted and on 7.1.2. Not running any custom ROMs. Do I need to do a dirty flash and reinstall the July factory image and TWRP before I put suhide on my phone or can I just boot into TWRP and follow the instructions to install suhide?
  24. D

    Post [ROOT] SuperSU

Just downloaded the July image. Extracted the zip file. I don't see the flash-all.bat file. Deleted it and downloaded it again. Same thing. Figured I'd try the June image. Same thing. Is it me? Please ignore. I am a dumbass. I was downloading the OTA files and not the factory images.

    Post [ROOT] SuperSU

I believe there is a file you edit with -w so you don't lose you data, right? I would assume that I would have to reinstall twrp as well after the update, right?

    Post [ROOT] SuperSU

Thank you. Now my next question, that I couldn't get answered in the Q&A is, how do I install the OTA in TWRP? I've never installed one in TWRP before. Always did the ADB method mainly because I couldn't get TWRP to stick. So do I: 1. Download the July Verizon OTA NHG47O to my phone. 2...

    Post [ROOT] SuperSU

Sorry for asking this but I posted a question in the Q&A section and haven't really gotten the answer I'm looking for so I'll start with this, after reading the latest threads in this post, since I'm on the May 5, 2017 NHG47L Verizon build, I don't have to use the boot signature when I install...

Yes. That's what I was looking for. For some reason I lost TWRP and couldn't get it to stick. So I was just using the ADB sideload method. Now, for whatever reason, TWRP is back on my phone so I'd like to try to use TWRP to sideload the OTA. I've never done that before. Thanks.

Post Signing boot images for Android Verified Boot (AVB) [v8]

Ok. I don't have twrp. Had it before and it stopped working and I could never get it to work again so what steps would I need to take to get the may update & us back on my XL without boot looping?
  35. D

    Post [ROOT] SuperSU

I tried the power and volume down. When I selected bootloader it just went back to the loop. I wound up using the flashall.bat and going back to stock then installed the April OTA. Back in business. https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/how-to/info-how-restored-to-stock-soft-t3494478...

I can but it's encrypted. So even if the file I need is there I can't read it.

Post TWRP 3.2.3-1 for Pixel Devices

I couldn't get to the password screen in TWRP. Therefore any files i have on the phone are encrypted still. So I can't install the permanent TWRP zip file or any other file.

Yes. I could get to this screen before. I was under the assumption that I was supposed to be prompted for my pin before I got into that screen so the files would be decrypted.
