I am also experiencing this issue with Chase Pay. Not using a custom ROM. Magisk version 16.2. Passed safety net. All other banking apps work fine. Using Google Pixel XL.

Has anyone been able to successfully get root on phone using this method with the January security update? I've installed suhide in twrp like I'm supposed to but can't get SU sr3 or sr5 to work.

I got it to work. The problem was with the SuperUser app. I needed to open the app and let it update. Then all was good.

Got it to work. The SU app needed to be updated. Happy camper.

I've been using the SUhide method. Bootable TWRP (not installing), systemless bin, then SU, then SUhide. Using that method I can see that the phone is rooted and it passes the safety net but I can't get Superuser to show.

Can someone post a link to Magisk for the Pixel XL. Not really familiar with it but I've lost all hope that SU will ever be updated. Thank you in advance.

I'm rooted and on 7.1.2. Not running any custom ROMs. Do I need to do a dirty flash and reinstall the July factory image and TWRP before I put suhide on my phone or can I just boot into TWRP and follow the instructions to install suhide?

Just downloaded the July image. Extracted the zip file. I don't see the flash-all.bat file. Deleted it and downloaded it again. Same thing. Figured I'd try the June image. Same thing. Is it me? Please ignore. I am a dumbass. I was downloading the OTA files and not the factory images.

I believe there is a file you edit with -w so you don't lose you data, right? I would assume that I would have to reinstall twrp as well after the update, right?

I can but it's encrypted. So even if the file I need is there I can't read it.

I couldn't get to the password screen in TWRP. Therefore any files i have on the phone are encrypted still. So I can't install the permanent TWRP zip file or any other file.

So don't wipe anything yet? I don't have SU zip file on the phone either.

Yes. I could get to this screen before. I was under the assumption that I was supposed to be prompted for my pin before I got into that screen so the files would be decrypted.
