As mentioned in you made the mistake, that you installed a android 9.0 stock rom. LineageOS cannot be installed with a android 9 firmware on the phone. To downgrade use the instructions here. Maybe you have to do that for slot A and slot B. Then start with the flashing guide from the beginning...

I know the different ways of encryption. With Android phones I was used to enter the encryption code manually (motorola and samsung). So I expected the same behaviour with the xa2. If the xa2 uses a more userfriendly way I am happy with that.

Ah, that sounds better. Using newflasher runs successfully till the end. But afterwards the flickering is still there. I can start the phone to bootloader, fastboot or flash mode. But none of them helps me out of the flickering screen. Any hints? Thanks!

CM 13.0 is outdated. I would use LineageOS 14.1. LineageOS 15.x is still alpha. In my family, we do have two S5mini running LOS 14.1 without problems.
