We need to talk. I'm also looking at this with a couple of others, to automate installing a rom with microg. Given the current climate, this will become more popular.

Is anyone having problems updating apps? I didn't at first, but now for some reason both f-droid and Aurora just sit on "installing" when I try to either update existing or install new apps?

Yeah I went back to it after finally noticing the ROM had signature spoofing support and it worked too. I'm currently running Tomahawk, which is a stripped down stock ROM with microg, but may go back to Carbon. I think performance was better using this one.

I would be interested to try the G8142 version, dual sim would have its uses for sure, but after spending literally the whole day yesterday getting a working phone I'll have to wait a few weeks until I get bored again :laugh: EXistenZ thread definitely says odexed right in the first post, but...

Thanks I will try this. Yes I'm using eXistenZ v10. Just for info I tried again without installing this and it failed again with the same error. I also tried flashing the patcher without installing Magisk first, so it would install directly into /system, but still no good. I'm almost done...

So I followed these steps based on the various pieces of info, to install Tomahawk and then eXistenZ: 1. Flash Fresh Stock ROM using Newflasher and reboot 2. Flash Aroma TWRP 3. Flash Tomahawk ROM 4. Flash Existenz v10 4. Flash Magisk 19.3 5. Reboot and run setup wizard 6. Reboot to TWRP, Wipe...

I'm very interested to try this ROM, been using CarbonROM with Microg as I want to get rid of Google completely, but CR is not stable enough, I see a rebuild coming this weekend! Great work!

I've noticed that every time I update the ROM, the ring tone is set back to default. All other notification sounds are unaffected. Anyone else noticed this?

I'd have to ask myself why their sales are declining. I've certainly been put off by the technical issues raised from unlocking the bootloader - green camera screens etc. This is not a developer friendly company, or at least Sony realised very late the value in engaging with the developer...

Is v8 development the reason why weekly updates have stopped? Serious lack of development in the XZP forums, I think this phone is dying as far as a developer community is concerned. It's a shame, it's a good phone but I think Sony have really turned people off by crippling it so much, should...

Hi all, this looks promising, I've missed LOS! I'm currently running FW 47.2.A.6.30 AMD Existenz, do I need to downgrade before flashing, or just full wipe? Is the ROM fully debloated? Anything not working? I'm not particularly bothered about slo mo as long as the camera works.

Just some advice guys, it seems any attempt to remove system apps via Titanium results in a boot loop. I tried to remove Chrome, AVG and the ps controller app, kept getting this so tired the debloater magisk module. All three uninstalled and phone boots fine :svetius:

All done and running smooth. Had an issue with boot loop, quickly sorted by wiping dalvik/cache and reinstalling magisk. I'm running magisk 18.1, no issues to report so far. Thanks to all of you who have contributed, really nice smooth ROM!

Great work! Just to check, if I have a G8141, do I still flash the G8142 firmware? Also I take it no need to flash gapps? And I get the fun of removing all the stock Sony crap again, right? :laugh:

Thanks for the advice! Before your reply I went ahead and installed stock ROM then install 1.3. I had a problem with no keyboard so couldn't set up the phone, so wiped system, cache etc then reinstalled with magisk and gapps aroma. At some point I got into boot loop but full wipe, install 1.3...

Excellent work, do we need to flash Magisk or GApps? And I asume we also need to reinstall TWRP?

I had to enable the 4G setting myself. Go into Settings - Network & Internet - Mobile Network - Advanced - Preferred Network Type. It's probably set to 3G, just change it to 4G and you're set.

I usually find this to be the time settings in TWRP. The timezone may also be incorrect, as someone else has mentioned the system, and therefore Whatsapp, is picking up the incorrect time until the network connection is established.

I am, and I haven't noticed any considerable increase in battery usage. In my experience it's got a lot better recently.

I'm not saying this itself is a privacy flaw, is what this might lead to that is my concern. The decision should stay with the user what data is shared, and the user should have the right to turn off such features.

As kessaras said, ambient music notification cannot be turned off. If you long press on the notification, you get a popup from systemui even telling you the notification cannot be turned off. You can go into more settings and the option to turn off "recognized music notifications" is greyed out...
