Thank you Rox. I've flashed it on a Neo and only the camera is giving me problems. I'll flash the Camera fix and see how it goes.

Post MKV files crash in most android payers on Xperia SP

Not all MKV files are the same, some will play on your phone, and some will not. There are several factors that determine if your phone can play video files, depending on how the video was encoded. MX Player, BSP Player, VLC Player etc are all good players. My advice is to simply install all 3...

Post Sony Xperia ZR Official Thread!

If the price difference is small, then ZR. The question is how much more is it worth being waterproof, 1GB extra RAM, 2 extra cores (still the same old CPU as in Nexus 4). Now, if Sony would put a Snapdragon 600 on ZR, keep the resolution 720p, put a high quality IPS display, then this phone...

    Post Gaming and battery life

Yes the phone gets warm when gaming, but not excessive (like my old SGS2). Battery goes down faster when gaming, but I wouldn't call it a drain. This is usual for all phones. What I really value with SP here are 2 things: 1) it plays heavy graphical games very smoothly and 2) in standby...

    Post [Q] [q] external sd

In the phone settings, there is a handy menu that says "Transfer data to SD card". It automatically cleans your media files from internal memory and moves them to external SD card. At least this should free some space for your apps.

Post Post Your Xperia SP Benchmark Score Here!!! Let's See Who is On Top ;)

Totally agree. SP is a great value for its price. Samsung tries with S4 mini to compete in this segment and what do they do? They have a phone with lesser CPU/GPU and lower screen resolution, but try to sell it with a higher price (here S4 mini is 100 EUR more expensive than SP)...

I've used the basic steps in Method 2 and I have root (temp CWM). Now I need to give the phone away unrooted. Can someone explain me how to remove the root? (I wish it was as simple as factory reset or uninstall Superuser app...). Thanks!

Post A Poll --Will you move to Galaxy S III?

I was looking forward to get HOX, but the HTC's decision to drop external storage and battery cover, made me wait for SGS3. I'm glad Sammy didn't disappoint here. So, I'll most likely get an SGS3. I also expect it to last longer thanks to the more powerful battery (I hate when my phone runs...

Post [ROM-AOSP GRJ22] Oxygen v2.1.6 (Latest gingerbread, clean & simple) (GSM & CDMA)

Using a ROM Manager on Desire with CWM Recovery increases the chances of failures. I've seen in other forums regular reports of device failures because of ROM Manager. Simply do the nandroid backups and flashing directly from Recovery.

Post [ROM-AOSP GRJ22] Oxygen v2.1.6 (Latest gingerbread, clean & simple) (GSM & CDMA)

Those that complain about battery drain: I'm on v2.1.6 and the phone lost only 3% after 11 hours of passive usage. :) I'm using the default kernel in Oxygen, and there are no other modifications.

Post [ROM-AOSP GRJ22] Oxygen v2.1.6 (Latest gingerbread, clean & simple) (GSM & CDMA)

Very nice work. I've updated Hboot to Oxygen r2 table and flashed v2.1.5 over v2.1.4 without any wipe. All is working nicely. Now flashing v2.1.6. Post [Q] The best custom ROM for HTC Desire?

First of all, I'm very thankful to all the devs that put their time and effort in making great ROMs for Desire. That makes this phone truly fun to have. I've tried various ROMs and the closest to my taste come the ASOP/non-Sense ROMs: Gingervillain, Redux, Oxygen and Cyanogenmod. These are...

Post Error while performing S-off procedure

Depends which ASOP ROM. I had trouble to S-OFF when I was on Gingervillan, but after flashing my phone with an old Redux ROM, I was able to S-OFF it. I think the stock rooted ROMs are the best bet for safe S-OFF though.

Post [Q] how to enable 720p recording and playback in cm7?

Why not ask this in CM7 ROM thread? My guess is that 720p is disabled in all ASOP ROMs and is only enabled in some hacked ROMs. By the way, with CM7 ROM you can play 720p video.

Post [ROM] CyanogenMod-7 for Desire GSM V7.0.3 (06/05/2011)

Does anyone know why at least Market is not a standard part of CM7 ROM? No Market, so no way to go to Market and install Titanium Backup, so no way to restore your apps?! Also, it is annoying to flash twice: one for the ROM and one for the Google apps.

Post [AlphaRev] HBOOT S-OFF Desire GSM 1.8

Post [AlphaRev] HBOOT S-OFF Desire GSM 1.8

Thanks, but I don't see there any clear instructions on how to setup the fastboot tool. Anyway, I'm also S-OFF on a branded phone, so I'll give it a try with a goldcard first. If that doesn't work either, then I'll jump researching Fastboot.

    Post [ROM-GingerBread] Ginger Villain 3.3 (16-10)

Usually, ext is not the issue, the internal memory is. This gets still filled by apps data, apps cache and by apps libs. Look at some apps like browser and try to clean the apps cache.

Post What about Desire and bluetooth hand-free devices (car)?

Updating the BT carkit software often helps to fix the issues. I've done that taking my laptop into my car (pair, flash FW, done), and now Desire pairs in a few seconds with a stable connection.

Post Who all are sticking with their Desire?

Also sticking to my Desire. HD is too large for me and Z has a physical keyboard I don't like. Besides, Snapdragon 2 is kind of evolution, not a revolution, so I'll wait for next gen platforms, possibly Tegra 2.

Post Migrating from iPhone should I buy the HTC Desire HD or a Desire?

I would go for Desire. Coming from iphone 3GS, Desire HD might feel excessively large and not practical. Besides, Desire already has a good community behind it.

Dany0, To make a voice call, you need to press a button to activate the voice call. A dedicated "call" button could help here. For example, I have a trouble to initiate a voice call in a car using Parrot handsfree car kit (no proble to accept incoming calls though).

Yes, it seems 15mb is the minimum threshold on phone memory to download and install the apps. Navigon takes 26MB? That's a lot! I have Sygic Maps and it takes less than 7MB. I can move it to SD, but I leave it on phone memory for maximum performance. Try App2SD application from Market...

I think that is indeed the case. I have moved Angry Birds (13MB) from phone to SD card, and now I see it showing 1.6MB. Which means 1.6MB is still on phone memory and the rest on SD card.
