Exactly! It is not related to the case. It seems to me more related to problematic digitizers, as in my case the problem appeared about a month since I bought the tablet and after the repair it didn't happen again although I'm still using the cover.

There is an "Auto Restart" Option in setting. Maybe this is related to the "random" reboots.

I guess you are using unicode (ie non-us) characters. Such characters are two bytes in length so it splits it in half

I find this one extremely useful as it is actually an app that allows you to search items in your tablet. You can search even for handwritten notes. ;)

Attached is my list of disabled packages. I guess some of you may find many of these packages useful (eg I use the SNote app for note taking so I have disable both the samsung notes and oneNote apps)

No I don't think it does that (I'll verify later as I don't have my tablet now). But now that you mention it, it would be easy to do so using sensors: screen facing downward and light sensor detects no light. :\

I always try to put a matte screen cover as I like non-reflective screens. I don't think they make much difference regarding protection of scratches, though :\

It seems that there is a general issue with notifications. I'm also using T-Mobile and a week ago I was not getting any notifications from facebook (the badge counter showed it but no sound/vibration/preview popup). It just started working again after some days :\

My T-Mobile SIM that I had since 2013 always worked when traveling overseas. Never had an issue with either data or phone calls.

It is the Pure Calendar Widget Highly customizable and it can work with a lot of 3rd party task providers. I love it. Although it is a non-free app, I believe it worths its money.

Try increasing the time out in Screen Off Settings

I guess you have set up smart unlock. Right? Actually the expected behavior is the same as the one when you let your screen timeout and turn off due to inactivity, which might be different than turning it off with the power key.
