Instead of "rm"ing all of those apps, you know you can just permanently disable them once, right? Just go in ADB or terminal with su and type: pm disable <app package name> If you need to know what the package names are, just use: pm list packages

Can you tell me exactly what you did, and where you pulled the battery? I'm assuming: Temproot with visionary, run the commands, pull battery. Temproot again, pull the battery. Right? That doesn't stick for me :(.

So in the same way that the manual way wouldn't perm root my phone, neither does visionary r12. It just doesn't stick, period.

I assumed the part you said to disregard was closing the terminal, not running visionary again. That wasn't the most clear, to be fair. I will try a 5th time here, but I already did what you described (running sync without visionary again, before rebooting) and it didn't stick either.

Post OTA, run-on-boot is unchecked, I've tried both with fastboot on and off. Obviously with fastboot on, powering down wouldn't do anything, but "restart" still functions the same.

No matter what I do I can't get this to stick. I always get to the end, but visionary just says "already rooted." I tried rebooting and running visionary, but it doesn't stick. Do I need an older version of visionary that doesn't check if the phone is already rooted or what?

So I did everything you said, but when I was at the end and had to run visionary then type sync, visionary just said "already rooted." I waited a few minutes, rebooted, and the phone didn't have root. Going to try one more time... EDIT: Same thing. In fast boot is still says S-ON...

Install launcher pro, and enjoy having the best of both worlds. The sense launcher sucks (in my opinion), and launcher pro gets rid of that problem. Then the things that the sense UI does better (like the lock screen) you still have. I hate sense, and after minor tweaks and mods, like my MT4G...
