Many thanks for this, the option 2 worked perfectly for an unrooted upgrade on retgb I'm guessing the -16 newer file in post #1 is the full build rather than an update; if so, is there a -16 update that could be used in the same way? Not that I have found anything wrong with the -11 update...

That's it. Remove magisk and messenger and ebay work. Reinstall and get the FCs. Edit: for readers, this is a problem with my setup rather than eragon New user still results in a system ui crash without magisk so that's something else. I will poke around the magisk forum. Thanks

Alas, the same. Reflashed the bootloader/lk, wiped system, boot, cache, dalvik x3, rebooted, wiped x3, installed 4.5. Messenger fc immediately, then logged in to play to install logcat ex and ebay. Popped SD out and rebooted just in case. Messenger and ebay continue to fc. Try...

Thanks for your patience. I had the updated preloader/lk via stock and cm13, also twrp.8, but I think I am at the stage of nuking again from orbit - will start from scratch. No scripts on SD as far as I know.

Thanks for the advice. The replacement messaging works, eBay and messenger continue to fc. This is after clean flash, only apps I installed from the play store were logcat extreme, messenger and eBay. No restores I don't use anything to block, wouldn't know how to.

I get Messenger FC, ebay too, but clearly others aren't. This after full wipe, and FC for messenger still after a couple of reboots. Any likely cause I have missed?
