Just wondering if anyone has tried using Nova, Action, Apex or any other 3rd party launcher and what your results have been. I'm particularly interested in knowing which, if any, Pixel Launcher features are lost if using Nova (for example), and the workarounds to gain back those features. Thanks!

Pixel for sure. AI and VR are about to hit big time and that's a big part of what the Pixel is all about.

Exactly my concern as well. I'm a long time Nova Launcher user like you are, but you'll probably get a truer Pixel Launcher experience with Action Launcher. Pixel widgets, app drawer, folders and quick pop up menus that you see in Pixel Launcher also work in the latest version of Action...

I don't disagree with you...because what I said was that restoring system data in general and app data can at times work without causing problems. If the base is the same you could also dirty flash and come out unscathed. My comments were that doing so opens you up to very real possible problems...

I probably won't have the best answer, or one that you will like, but all the setting up over and over is kinda par for the course - the price we pay for being hackers - and being able to run the latest ROMs on our devices. Not to say you can't restore app data and SOME system data selectively...
