    Post Apple Earpods usable?

I bought a pair of Airpods specifically for my Pixel 2xl and have had zero problems with them. I do have an iPad that I used to set up gestures and I use AssistantTrigger to add a gesture for launching Assistant, which works quite well. You may be able to set the gesture commands from that app...

    Post Android Message App

Wow, feels like forever since I've posted on XDA... Good to be back. Here's the thing, Android Messages is the default Google SMS/MMS client that has the potential fur RCS delivery depending on the carrier you are on. I doubt we see it ever get anything near iMessage capabilities. You're more...

Post difference between the xt1050 and the xt1060?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The XT1060 is the Verizon Moto X model number, the XT1050 is not. I believe the XT1050, which is used for regional carriers, has CDMA capabilities like the Verizon model (again, the XT1060). If it's still on 4.4.2, the Verizon model can be unlocked via Sunshine as well...

Post difference between the xt1050 and the xt1060?

All Verizon LTE phones come SIM unlocked, meaning that they work fine on GSM carriers. The only problem that might show up is that LTE bands will likely not match, meaning the device is limited to HSPA+. As for which is easier to root, the Verizon one will not be easy to root unless it's a...

Post [Q&A] [Rom] [5.0] [UNOFFICIAL] Cyanogenmod 12 for Moto X

That's a feature that CM has added up the tree. Try pulling down from the middle and it should just be the notifications. It's a quick toggle pull from the right side and will probably in the future be optional (I assume that's how it worked in CM11, that you could turn it on/off and move it to...

Post [Q] Can I take OTA to 4.4.4 and maintain root?

If your bootloader is unlocked, yes, you can keep root, though you will need to the reflash supersu.zip (or have twrp automagically do it). Otherwise, no. There is no root available for unlocked 4.4.4. If you don't have an unlocked bootloader, check out the Sunshine thread in the general...

Post [Rom] [5.0] [UNOFFICIAL] Cyanogenmod 12 for Moto X

    Post UnOfficial CM-12.0 Ghost (11-17)

As long as you don't flash the SBF or parts of the SBF for a version lower than what you are using, you will be fine. If you flash this ROM, make a backup first, since it is safe to restore the backup, since all you are really changing is the system.img. Again, as a safety precaution, either...

    Post [Q] VZW Moto X 1060 -- no hackee?

I think you misunderstand. The $25 unlock is a third-party exploit developed by JCase and a number of other talented developers. If you are on VZW, that is the only way to unlock, but it is far from official. Plus, it rarely works on 4.4.4 for the Moto X. I think most people would be ok if VZW...

Post [Q] Android L Developer Preview on Moto X via Safestrap

Safestrap is essentially just a workaround for phones with unlockable bootloaders. It provides the means to install custom ROMs in a secondary 'slot', though they still rely heavily on the main stock ROM; hence why KJ says that the ROMs have to be made for your device and confirmed to work with...

Post [GUIDE] SUCCESS!!! SIM-Unlock Sprint XT1056 (SIM-CRACK) Moto X GSM **NOW U.S. TOO!**

You won't be able to use the phone on your Verizon account. It wouldn't be provisioned correctly and there are no (legal) ways to convert a phone like that to run on Verizon. Even if you were trying for an LTE only device, I don't think the RW version has the correct bands to run on Verizon, if...

Post [Q] Why Moto X 4.4.4 (2013) still on old launcher?

You can install the Google Now Launcher in the 2013 X, it just isn't installed by default. This is partially due to the fact that it only recently became available for all on the Play Store. I really think this is all a non-issue since it is available, it just isn't installed as the default as...

Post Should I finally upgrade to KK?

Here are my impressions: 1. Battery life: I bought my Moto X after KitKat was released and have had up and down battery life. However, on 4.4.4, my battery has improved greatly. With a Maxx, your battery should still be good on 4.4.4, but I can't say for 100% sure, since I don't have that...

I would be wary using that method. Looking at the comments, one was posted before 4.4.2, 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 was released, so it is probably an older guide meant to be used with 4.4 only. Also, using safestrap takes up more space on your device, since you have an underlying core OS (as samwathegreat puts it), essentially meaning that you have two full ROMs on your phone.
