I had the same problem. The Phone was getting very hot and draining quickly. I installed a kernel tweaker app and changed to ondemand on both cpu clusters as well. Now it seems better.

There's another thing that I would like to add. When the flashing fails and phone becomes dead(seems dead), it is not in a powered off state i.e. it actually is in a dormant state in some occasions. That is, it doesn't respond to any actions performed like plugging to pc, plugging charger e.t.c...
