Use a clean stock and kernel rom, for me the performance is better , phone doesnt heat anymore even when charging while playing , plus the phone charges fast awhile playing because cpu and gpu dont stress like with stock resolution

not really , it does help with the blurry text.. try it for yourself , you can go back to default easy if you don't like the performance

You probably use custom rom? i use MIUI 11 EU rom and have no bugs whatsoever.

Yes 4k 30 fps and 60fps works , also 1080p on youtube is working too ..

I have no such problems , using MIUI 11 EU rom and stock kernel , maybe you have custom kernel/rom that doesn't work right with lower resolution.

No matter what game it is it should have a big performance boost ... pixels are what tanks performance , the higher resolution the less performance and more GPU and CPU usage .. is common sense , whether is about phones or PC's. Weird because i see a huge performance improvement. Games like Shadowgun War Games on ultra settings and 60fps on stock resolution was stuttering and lagging , with lower resolution is smooth like butter on ultra 60fps... maybe you didn't do something right..

enable USB Debbuging (Security Settings) as well in developer options.

I have tried to lower my resolution to 720p with adb command , but the notch messes up the whole thing and you get black bars around the edges and a big notch like black bar on mid top of the screen , i wonder if there is an exact dpi and resolution for it to fit perfectly.

Is it even worth trying to flash V5 on Miui 9 9.6.14 fw? v4 no matter how i flashed (clean or dirty) , the sound was dead and videos were stuttering.

Terrible kernel .. Great performance but there is no sound and videos are stuttering after flashing on miui 9 stock rom , when you do something do it properly , or at least leave some instructions about which roms work with your kernel .. now i have to reflash my rom again.

If anyone could answer would be appreciated .
