This is exactly what I am doing. Using twrp 3.3.1. Immediately after the installation I enter twrp normally .. After I go to the system and back to twrp is the default. In firmware 0.53 this did not happen.

i'm on fw 0.55 install twrp but only load default recovery. any idea?

After I restored a copy of Rom by twrp, the system will not accept me creating a figerprint unlock or adding any unlock password. Only if I reset the system and reconfigure from the beginning.

It is always good to have such an adapter for emergencies. Mainly in devices without expansion sdcard. In your case without the pc would be a solution. And about the latest version of twrp 3.2.1.1 I posted in some previous posts.
