You'd have to flash a new ROM without GApps, like CyanogenMod, that way it would require flashing that package just to get it back. I'm not sure there is an app solution unless you're willing to trying app lockers.

Yes I have used the SIM card in my GSIII and it had the same problem as the new one from the MetroPCS Store. As far as other providers I don't have any of those SIM cards to test with.

Their GSM bands are T-Mobile and this phone ostensibly supports that. My Galaxy SIII shows that they are indeed T-Mobile LTE signals. Thank you though, I really want to get this up and running for my sister.
