I don't really have an A7, so this is a bit difficult for me but going from just unlocking the bootloader and flashing a recovery, formatting data to remove encryption then installing the zip should work fine.

Try booting it, and if it reboots to a8 logo, just press vol up+power to enter twrp, copy /proc/last_kmsg to /sdcard, and send that file to me. If it gets stuck on Samsung logo, use adb to get a logcat and send that to me. If it boots without problems, just tell me lol

Just flash like when installing the zip I know the issue exists, haven't taken a look yet at what's causing it. I haven't had any issues with the model being different, but you need to change it there if you want to have the A8 model number.

Camera is just like any other rom on non-samsung camera (as samsung camera is not included) For me it's perfectly fine like this

Only tried Phh roar, and Android 12 pixel gsi by Erfan, both booted fine. (android 12 is not suitable for daily use atm because of broken internal storage but android 11 based gsis work without problems, only a bug in phh scripts makes hotspot dead but I fixed that for phh, and will be in next...

It installs just like any other rom. You'll just have to install twrp (find guide for that in other thread or youtube), then boot into it, click install zip, then select the rom and swipe to flash. You'll also need to wipe data.

I didn't mean the button to switch between the front and rear cameras, also that's there, it exists but the swipe up thing works as well. What I meant is the switch to switch between the two front cameras of the phone. It did have that switch.

I've never flashed that rmm zip after installing a gsi on my phone. Never got locked with that. The only time I got locked was on stock rom, and that was an frp lock 'cause I turned off OEM unlock while being rooted.
