    Post Pixel 4 intelliGLASS

Just received the replacement a couple of days ago and no way I'm wasting another one of my almost perfect (just misses covering the full screen) screen protectors for this one that cuts off screen and puts dust on the camera. Will the new one be automatically shipped to those of us that bought...

    Post Pixel 4 intelliGLASS

My unfounded-but-based-on-logic theory is that they're easier to break now because they don't adhere to the screen, so it's much easier to crack/break without the added rigidity of the actual phone screen against the protector.

Post [CLOSED][OFFICIAL XDA][BETA][MAR 19]XDA Labs: Forum App + App Installer + Xposed Repo

Hello all. Just wanted to second this; it describes both my Pixel XL and Pixel 4 XL behavior exactly. A search showed this was the only other post about it. It's not a huge big, just a little annoyance but I thought the devs should know. Thanks!

Post Lovin this Aluminum case with clear back for my Piexl 4 Xl

The first thread is shady as it can be trying to game Amazon's algorithms, but seems "legit" as far as it goes. THIS thread, on the other hand, is just spamming the forum. Dude doesn't love the case he got for his Pixel 4 XL, he's putting another thread to get more eyes on the product in a...

    Post Pixel 4 intelliGLASS

Just to confirm, their customer service is still as good as it ever was. They already emailed with a solution and will be sending the replacement when production is ready. I heard from them between four and five hours after emailing. It will of course depend on time zone and what time you...

    Post Pixel 4 intelliGLASS

Ugh, another one in the same boat. Only the edges have adhesive on them. I would never have bought this if I knew that was the case. Very disappointed not only to have a poor quality protector, but to have ruined the just fine-but-not-full-coverage protector I pulled off to install this one. I...

Post Get Google Pixel 4XL case for free [ad]

They also said my email was marked as spam. I straight up don't believe that. So ok, this might not be a scam, but it's shady as it can be. These are the instructions they want you to follow: https://howtofreecase.blogspot.com/2019/11/how-to-get-free-google-pixel-4-xl-case.html Just....no. I...

Post Ordered Oh So Orange, need recommendations on clear cases

Spigen Hybrid Crystal Clear here. I think it looks gorgeous with the panda 4XL. I don't notice the branding unless I go look for it, but definitely did when I first got the thing. It's like they got a laser writer and really felt like they needed to put it to use. The single Spigen logo I...

    Post Pixel 4 intelliGLASS

How obvious is the dot matrix pattern? I got mine a couple days ago but haven't put it on yet (ordered a different glass cover before getting the Intelliglass). When I looked at it out of the box it looked full to me. How close do you have to look to see if you have dot matrix?

Post Gestures vs 3 Button Navigation

I used gestures starting on on Pixel XL and kept using it on the P4 XL. I just like the bit of extra screen real estate at the bottom. It's also nice going back without moving a thumb to the bottom of the phone. That drove me crazy when I used my old phone (gave it to my kid, who uses the...

    Post Spigen cases

I have the Ultra Hybrid Crystal Clear and it's flippin' gorgeous. That said, it was also gorgeous on my OG Pixel XL. Problem is the TPU plastic on the sides (not the clear hard plastic back) yellows over time. It'll stay like this for a good six months or more but will eventually look dingy...

    Post [KERNEL] Pixel XL ElementalX

Been running for two days without issue. Please don't quote your own post to reiterate a question an hour after posting. That's just an unreasonable level of impatience. This is a forum, not on demand tech support.

    Post [KERNEL] Pixel XL ElementalX

Didn't have time for a clean install so I took a chance and flashed the image to update (remove -w from flash-all.bat). Surprisingly it went off without a hitch.

    Post [KERNEL] Pixel XL ElementalX

I'm a bit unique for XDA in that I only run stock + ElementalX, so I just don't install TWRP. I booted the image of 3.3.1.0 and installed the kernel, leaving the stock recovery alone. I guess you could do that with Magisk too but I don't use it any more and couldn't swear to it.

    Post [KERNEL] Pixel XL ElementalX

Hadn't bought that previously because I never tweak your already great performing kernel. Dropped that coin immediately after seeing this post though. $4 is nothing compared to the number of kernels I've used over the years. Thank you so much for your hard work! :good::good: EDIT - Updated to...

First, if you don't mind, please don't quote full OPs in the future. Apologies, but I can't answer your questions directly as I haven't ever actually owned a bullhead device. Since crDroid went out of development for the device though, I can't imagine it would be better to use way-out-of-date...

Sounds like you enabled unlocking via fingerprint at boot up. That never worked right in Oreo and was a carryover from Nougat. Disable that and you shouldn't have that issue.

Ahh, gotcha. Apologies. Truth is I have no idea. Our main developer added all of that stuff and I wouldn't have the foggiest idea how he did it. I'm sure if you know what you're doing you could find it on our git, but how to make it happen is well beyond my level of expertise. To the phone app...

    Post [ROM] [marlin] [8.1] [LOS-based] **crDroid**OMS**v4.7 (10/12/18)

UNINSTALL YOUR ACTIVE THEMES BEFORE DIRTY FLASHING. You will likely boot loop. Don't be that lazy. You can keep the theme apps, but any installed overlays need to be removed.
  31. hokiealumnus

    Post [ROM] [marlin] [8.1] [LOS-based] **crDroid**OMS**v4.7 (10/12/18)

Dirty flash should be ok (assuming you're on 8.1 already), but if you have problems, -always- clean flash before reporting issues. For dirty flash, wipe system and cache, flash ROM & TWRP, reboot into recovery, flash vendor (delete overlay folder), flash gapps, and if you is it flash magisk. Done.

    Post [ROM] [sailfish] [8.1] [LOS-based] **crDroid**OMS**v4.7 (10/12/18)

Oh, I totally understand why someone may want to use it. It just isn't something we are addressing in the ROM. If LOS puts that dialer in, then it will be in. If not, it's up to you. It is totally your choice; that's the beauty of Android. :good:
  34. hokiealumnus

    Post [ROM] [sailfish] [8.1] [LOS-based] **crDroid**OMS**v4.7 (10/12/18)

There is already a dialer that works fine. Razorloves gapps does not include Google dialer. Thus, it is not a system app. Using that instead is not a problem and doesn't need a reason, it is just how the ROM is built. Bhermes21 just forgot to pull in the build fingerprint change to sailfish...

We just couldn't figure it out. It is giving the command like it should in logs. It just doesn't....work. It has been a while since we looked at it, and I haven't even built in months (thank you BHermes21 !!!) But that's what I recall from when we were investigating.

Post [How-to] Unlock bootloader on Verizon Pixel/XL

Correct, it is blocked from download on the Play Store. You can download and install the apk and it works without issue. It just won't update itself like it would from the Play Store.
  41. hokiealumnus

Post [How-to] Unlock bootloader on Verizon Pixel/XL

That will take some research. In most cases you can run a custom kernel/ROM that doesn't allow detection of bootloader unlock and not root. Or you can do that plus root with Magisk and have it hide root. Whether that works or not for your purposes is something you'd have to find out. I don't use...

Post [How-to] Unlock bootloader on Verizon Pixel/XL

The downside is the unknown - will Verizon/Google patch this unlock method. Chances of that are very high. They patched the first method within a few months. It is doubtful they will leave this one open. If you ever want root, it might be a good idea to err on the side of unlock now, for fear...

Until it is patched after Verizon/Google see this thread/the XDA article, yes. Once patched though, there's no getting it back. EDIT - REMEMBER, if you are not back to 100% stock image on both slots when you re-lock, you will brick your phone.

Fair enough. He should also know Netflix doesn't allow installation from the play store on an unlocked bootloader. It can be installed via apk download from apk mirror though. Again, there are ways around this stuff, but you will need to figure that out if they are important to you.
