Bootloader unlock for Nokia 7 Plus is not free since there's no official method. You need to pay to unlock the bootloader. Regarding your question, No. You should downgrade to Oreo to unlock.

You only need an unlocked bootloader. Doesn't matter which Android version you're on.

Android 10 ROMs aren't in development. Their phase is over. All the devs have focused their attention on Android 11 ROMs. So, your issue probably won't be addressed.

Actually, in that last step, wiping internal storage is optional. It's preferred to wipe the internal storage but if you don't wish to, you can skip it. ROM will boot just fine. You must have done some mistakes in other portion. The issue you states isn't because you didn't wipe the internal...

Yes. It's amazing. Actually, all the ROMs I used were amazing. Good battery backup and great performance I would suggest to flash Ancient 4.0 though.

You need to use any ROM for at least a week for battery stats to stabilize. After 1 week, you'll get battery backup better than stock.

You need bootloader to be unlocked for installing TWRP recovery which is used for installing Custom ROMs. If you don't have the bootloader unlocked, then you can't install it.
