hi mate, through all your testing, what rom did you eventually settle on for this device, or find most stable/feature-rich sweet-spot?

I believe the process you describe requires a clean install of the rom. you may also need the updated twrp from lancebuks

gravity box provides the options in a large centred window but I was looking to try and have the same visual that lineage roms have where the options appear as small boxes next to the boxes which already appear on the right of the screen when power is held down. any ideas anyone?

does anyone know how i can add Advanced Power Menu options to this rom when power button is held down pls?

Yes wireless screen casting works in this rom (TB8704-10.0-20210121-1537-UNOFFICIAL.zip) , something which doesnt work on any other rom I've tried thus far. Many thanks to OP for the hard work and effort (8704F device variant)

Thanks for the suggestion. similar story for me. I couldn't flash any other gapps on lenovo tablet, getting either unsupported device or not enough free space. Only bitgapps worked after treble gsi rom install

Does wireless screen cast work with this rom? have tried Lineage 17.1, 18.1 but neither of those have it functioning. Lin17.1 prob most stable of the 2 so before I wipe and try this one just wanted to check if screen cast functions, thanks

can a backup of the 33 files be applied to a new device which is exactly the same model without bricking it? (ie. a rom transfer to create a clone onto second device)

Hi mate, I've used the method #1 that you linked, to take a full backup of my pad pro (thanks for sharing this, helped a lot since I really wanted to have a backup to restore to out-of-box if needed in the future). I ended up with 91 partitions saved, but it seems a lot of these partitions...

if im not mistaken (and someone feel free to correct me if necessary) deleting the cache partition from stock recovery (Power+Left Vol) would also delete the downloaded update

so you can't use fastboot to chainload twrp on a 1time basis ? making the protected device bootloader irrelevant i thought thats what ""fastboot boot boot.img "" was doing - chainloading

Once the device is running a custom rom (mine is on Fire Nexus) and if the device was originally on 5.3.1 then can this method be used to boot into twrp recovery?

spend 12-24hrs, reading posts in the whole x1 forum and you will eventually absorb a sense of what roms you might like to try based on popular opinion, what ppl have listed as their hardware and roms in their signatures etc. I would personally recommend starting with 826x then trying dynamics...
