Post Question US version (XQ-CT62) t-mobile: no data/internet connection??!!

Exactly the point, your phone number is the primary way many reach you. if your phone does not have any 3G\4G\5G coverage, then WiFi might be your only other option that gives people the ability to call you directly with your phone.

Post General Seems like Sony is starting to roll out Android 13 for Xperia 1 IV and 5 IV

US market is usually the last market that Sony updates when it comes their software updates. Sony has updated to Android 13 for all markets except for the US market. Having said that, Sony is good with their security updates when provided. I don't see Dec security update yet, but, expecting it...

Post Question US version (XQ-CT62) t-mobile: no data/internet connection??!!

It is Still a good attempt from TMO to try to help, It is really not TMO fault here as nothing they can do. Sony is at fault blocking TMO network code in their VoWiFi software. Sony has decided to block this service from the second largest US carrier, wondering why Sony sales not picking up in...

Post Question 5G support in the USA XQ-CT72

that is right, you will need the Google Fi app installed for the service at least initially. I can confirm that I have connected on band 71 (600Mhz) with no issues. I did not yet see any millimeter wave bands in my network info app (could be due to no coverage in my area). Even though Google Fi...

Post Question 5G support in the USA XQ-CT72

Sony has an issue with TMO (seems some personal issues between both companies), Sony purposely disables VoWiFi for TMO USA in their software even though the phone is capable of VoWiFi. you have two options: 1- Root your phone and hack the settings to enable VoWiFi for TMO USA. 2- Switch to...

Post Question US version (XQ-CT62) t-mobile: no data/internet connection??!!

Ah, that is a different question. that means you are able to get data and your problem is only with VoWiFi which is expected. your original post question was totally different. Sony blocks TMO VoWiFi in their software by blocking the network code in their settings. You will never get VoWiFi...

Post Question Does it matter which model i get? XQ-CT62 US version or Global version?

As @2015Ducatimulti mentioned, there is something missing there between the two version. There is Hardware differences between CT72 and CT62. The US version supports has mmW support and also more bands that are available in the US such as band 2, 66, and 71 used by TMO in addition to mmW 260...

Post Question Sony Xperia 1 iv compatible with T-Mobile USA ?

Stick with Single SIM version that you got (4GB). Dual SIM versions seems to keep breaking with Sony when it comes to VoLTE. You will be taking good risk switching to 6GB of RAM knowing Sony and how they treat US customers.

Post No VoLTE or VoWifi? Where are the settings.

We need to group together and file a class action law suite against Sony and ban their sales in the US. There is a clear case against Sony. Post No VoLTE or VoWifi? Where are the settings.

Hi RockStar2005, the phones comes pre-certified as long they have Qualcomm Chips that come carrier pre-certified. Post No VoLTE or VoWifi? Where are the settings.

Thank you for the info. Sony has been ignoring this fact for a while, none of the premium phones work on T-Mobile US VoLTE. It is not a certification matter as Chinese phones such as OnePlus work out of the box with T-Mobile US VoLTE making this very clear a Sony issue. If you are on T-Mobile...

Post Who is thinking to buy it ?? (I do)

Nope, won't waste my Money on Sony. Sony does not work in the T-Mobile US. They simply refuse to support T-Mobile US VoLTE. So Sony phones are useless for calls. Sony also has limited Bluetooth features. they don't send the META data of your songs and music while streaming.
