Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

You're right, XAPs are now encrypted. And the point is precisely to prevent applications like Phone7Market from working. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do, until the encryption key is broken (or some vulnerability is found).

Post Windows Phone 7 build 7.0.0.6077--for WP7 emulator only

I managed to find the tools here: http://www.t-hack.com/wiki/index.php/NK.BIN_toolset The dump procedure you linked was flawless. Thanks a bunch :)

Post Windows Phone 7 build 7.0.0.6077--for WP7 emulator only

Is that a good or a bad thing? :p Thanks for the tip, but as MJCS said, I'd need a MSDN subscription to download the tools. Still, thanks for the lead. I managed to find a dump of the 7661 build, but it still is too old. I'm going to see if I can find the Windows CE Platform Builder elsewhere.

Bump. The latest build I have is 7629. I'm struggling to find a dump of a more recent build. Does someone have a lead?

Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

Phone7Market can only be used for free apps. Paid apps are filtered. Edit: wow, answer long overdue. I didn't see there was another page >_<

Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

I don't think it's illegal since you only use public APIs (even if not documented). But even though, maybe you can just release a new version without obfuscating the code, it should be enough ;)

Yes it did. It works perfectly now :) Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

You have to deploy the patched version, right before it's deployed to your phone. The problem is: I can't tell you exactly where it is stored, since it's a randomly generated temporary folder. To find it, I used Process Monitor: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645...

Thanks, my settings were completely off. I hope it will work now :)

    Post GPS/location issues?

I also have problems with my Omnia 7 : the map is very imprecise (the gps apps indicate a 3000m precision) so I think it doesn't manage to get a fix and use 3G triangulation instead. I tried waiting for about 30 minutes outside, but nothing changed. The weird part is that it started working at...

Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

Okay, I tried using the Mango SDK XapDeploy tool to deploy the XAP patched by your app and it works. I'll use that for the time being, the rest is up to you :)

Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

No exception, and I can't dig much further since your code is obfuscated. But there's a XapDeployment tool in the SDK, and it works perfectly with homemade XAPs, and its code is readable in Reflector. So it's probably not a dead end.

Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

Maybe it's just the version of a referenced dll that changed, since there's a brand new emulator. I'll try attaching Visual Studio's debugger to see if I can catch an exception.

Post The DllImport Project (+/also C++ Wrapper) [Mango Support]

Thanks for the explanation. Looking forward to testing that in your upcoming task manager :) I forgot about the camera button. Seems consistent indeed.

Post The DllImport Project (+/also C++ Wrapper) [Mango Support]

I was refering to the SHSetAutoDehydratingHostEligibility. Even with a task manager, I don't think the registry trick is reliable, for obvious battery life reasons. But if the task manager somehow provides a way to select which app are allowed to run in background, it would be perfect. But I may...

Post The DllImport Project (+/also C++ Wrapper) [Mango Support]

Now that you're able to take a screenshot of the running app, is there a way to make your app running in background to make it a fully featured screenshot taker? I don't know if you tried it, but you may be able to make it run in the background without using the registry trick...

Post Chevron WP7 Updater Will Prevent Future Official Updates

I updated with Chevron monday, and the update was pushed by the carrier tuesday. Now I've got the update notification every time I sync my phone with Zune. If I accept it, it go through the update process (approx. 10 minutes), then notify me again the next time I plug the phone! Anyone else has...

Post [RELEASE] Phone7Market for Windows PC v2.0 Alpha B2: finally Mango full support!

Since the NoDo update, I can't install applications from U.S. marketplace anymore on my french WP7 (I didn't see that one coming :( ). Your application would be a great workaround, but there is a big drawback: if I install apps this way, I lose the update notification. So I'd like to make a...

Post WP7 Root Tools - Announcement: Coming to MANGO and to other devices: SAMSUNG, HTC, LG

I think the intent was not to make it sound easy, but rather to understand how it works. Especially because it isn't easy. When you have some free time, care to write a few blog posts to explain your background work? :)

Do you know if those permission depends on the manifest or on the launcher? I'm pretty sure I've read on this forum that someone managed to delete the search exe file. If you replace it by a home-crafted exe, would it get elevated privileges? (assuming that the original search exe has elevated...

Post The DllImport Project (+/also C++ Wrapper) [Mango Support]

Well, maybe resuming an application is the same thing as launching a new one. Start an application, go back to the start menu, re-launch the application : the instance is resumed. I don't think they went through the pain to implement the "is that app already running?" check at multiple place...

Have you tried a StartProcess directly on the xap file? That's still a Windows CE under the hood, there may be a file association set.

Maybe the hard way? Read the binary content of the picture in C++, then return a byte array to the Silverlight code.

Not a huge issue since I use this app mostly at home, but it lacks proxy support :)

Post Windows Phone 7 Final RTW Build 7003 Unlocked Emulator

Unfortunately there isn't the files I'm searching for in this dump. I'm searching for a dump like this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=647138, but with the RTM version of WP7. I tried to dump myself the files but I probably mess up somewhere since I can't open the...

    Post [APP][6 August 2010] S2U2 v2.43

I've just upgraded from 2.30 to 2.42 on a HTC Touch Diamond and S2U2 has become unusable. When I try to slide to unlock, it slides at the same time the HTC TouchFlo slider and S2US loses the focus, bringing back the slider to its original position. Never had this problem with 2.30. Is there a...

They are themes shared across Silverlight applications. So if you change it, you can change the corresponding color in the Silverlight applications that rely on default theme. I think "PhoneAccentColor" is the color of highlighted words (one of the few settings available in the emulator).
