I updated mine to emui 5 as soon as I got it and I did no comparisons. Can anyone check to see what is the maximum resolution available for video recording? The max I am getting is 1080p.

Is there a way to force the lowering of the screen resolution? There's a setting called 'low resolution power saving' but the res is detected as 2k and not 1080p.

That is true. For many, there is no perfect phone that satisfies them 100%. Mate 9 is a pretty quick device. I wonder how the Kirin 960 compares to the 955 in the Note 8 in everyday tasks. I've looked at some videos but I cannot detect any real world difference.

Ok the Hi app is on the phone itself that comes by default right? I get my Note 8 this weekend so I'm anxious to try it out and compare it to the Mate 9.

I understand you completely. Just that in the past I've seen other devices have erroneous indicators of network speed depending on which ROM was installed. The speeds you're currently getting on both devices are no more than hspa speeds. Personally I would only be convinced of true LTE...

I don't think you'll need the full ROM. The OTA would have essentially "patched" your system to the latest build. The only reason you'd want the full build is if you're trying to return your phone to stock after a soft brick or wanting to undo root and custom recovery modifications. Sent from...

For reference the Oneplus 3t has just about the same amount reserved for the system. Whether or not it's overkill is irrelevant. There's no way to easily adjust this. Don't forget that you have expandable storage so it's not a big deal. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk

C636 I believe is the Chinese version of the mate 9 which does not have the correct us bands. There's no way to get those bands in your version. You'll have to purchase the us version. Flashing does not alter capability in terms of LTE capability. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
