    Thread [Q] "Gamestream Ready" routers?

So I just got myself a Shield. (yay!) I was noticing that Nvidia has a list of routers that it recommends (here: http://shield.nvidia.com/accessories-hardware) calling them "Gamestream Ready" routers that are optimized for PC game streaming. Is there really something unique/special about...

Post [MOD]Add Wifi Calling for froyo based roms (T-Mobile only)

Possible, I'm not sure. Back when I added it (about a year ago) I had to call customer care and have them do it as it wasn't available to manually add on the website.

Post [MOD]Add Wifi Calling for froyo based roms (T-Mobile only)

Actually it IS correct. The app only says "...may use your minutes..." My info is coming from my own plan. As I said, you need to have a rep add wifi calling to your plan. (see screen-shot of my plan below) If you don't do that step, then it will use your minutes. I use WiFi calling all the...

Post [MOD]Add Wifi Calling for froyo based roms (T-Mobile only)

TMobile's WiFi calling does NOT use your minutes, however you need to call Tmobile customer-care and ask them to add the "WiFi calling option" to your plan. It's free, but without it any calls you make using wifi calling will still use your minutes.

Post [HOWTO] [ROOT] No Tripping Flash Counter [Tmobile / Wind / Mobilicity / Videotron]

Personal preference, but my impression is that twrp seems to be the preferred recovery right now. I actually ran into problems trying to install CyanogenMod using CWM and had to install TWRP instead. It has worked great and I haven't switched back. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2

Post [Q] went from CM10.1 back to stock touch-wiz, now problems!

That's what I thought too, but clearly that didn't happen to me given that I had 6GB of stuff hanging around after flashing root66. (using ODIN) Oh well, unless someone tells me otherwise I think at this point I'm good to go. Thanks,

Post [Q] went from CM10.1 back to stock touch-wiz, now problems!

Thanks for the reply, before I noticed your reply however I ended up doing another factory reset, but this type I manually wiped the /System partition using TWRP. Then I flashed root66 again using Odin. Now things look better, no more files hanging over from previous ROM's. I did just go...

Thread [Q] went from CM10.1 back to stock touch-wiz, now problems!

Hey guys, I recently went from TouchWiz to CM 10.1, and today I went back to TouchWiz. I ended up flashing the latest "root66" TouchWiz ROM because it's the official touchwiz with root injected into it. I did this using ODIN on my PC. (I have all my data backed up elsewhere so I don't mind...

Remember the golden rule: most wireless carrier employees don't know anything. Just because some guy at tmobile said people were having problems doesn't mean it's anything out of the ordinary. (the update is working fine for me, fyi) Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2

I applied the latest image using Mobile Odin and everything seems to have worked fine, however I'm noticing that if I go into settings --> About Device, it shows the build number as IMM76D.T999UVALH2. Is this right? Shouldn't it be *UVALJ4 at the end? My baseband version did change, however...

Thanks, yes I'm already rooted. (using the T999UVALH2 image from this thread) So in other words I could take the latest rom from this thread, and flash it using mobile odin but NOT enable everroot? (since the image is already rooted) That sounds like a nice way to do it, thanks!!

Post [HOWTO] [ROOT] No Tripping Flash Counter [Tmobile / Wind / Mobilicity / Videotron]

I know others have asked this question in the past, but I haven't seen an answer: Can the "Mobile Odin" app be used to flash these images? (or maybe a better question is, has anyone here used Mobile Odin to flash mr robinson's images?) I've noticed that the mobile odin app advertises that it...

Post [HOWTO] [ROOT] No Tripping Flash Counter [Tmobile / Wind / Mobilicity / Videotron]

I would like someone more knowledgeable than me give the official confirmation on this, but I'm about 95% sure that you CAN install CWM via Rom manager w/o tripping the flash counter. In fact, this is exactly what I did and as far as I know I didn't trip the counter. My understanding is that...

Post [HOWTO] [ROOT] No Tripping Flash Counter [Tmobile / Wind / Mobilicity / Videotron]

So riffing on his question and your answer, if you flashed a custom ROM (not using your method) and tripped the counter, would flashing back to stock using ODIN reset the counter? In other words, no matter what you do, does flashing back the stock ROM via ODIN basically give you a "do-over"...

Post ATT SG3 and CM9 Question

Short answer: no. If you're running CM you're on a completely different build than the version of Android/Touchwiz that ships on the device. Longer answer: Both CM and the build that ships with the device are obviously both derived from the same source: Google's Android. So if Google fixes...

Post Since Multitasking is the thing android boasts, why does it suck so badly?

One limitation of webos (at least in its current state) is you can't have a headless app. In other words, all apps must have a UI - either a card or a dashboard. With Android (and windows mobile too) you can run a background service that is completely headless. A minor point maybe, but for...

I doubt it consumes more than a fraction of your battery if left on. For that reason, I can't imagine having to manually turn GPS on and off throughout the day - complete waste of time. Even if it chews 5% of your battery in the course of a day(and I doubt it's that much) it's worth leaving...
