Thanks I'll check out the video. I'm thinking about just going the kingroot route since after reading some more this seems like a tricky method for me if I miss a step. Just not sure if I can re-root after rebooting since I want to install xposed.

Late reply but I can't connect to either wifi or data. The phone literally gets to the verizon screen then shuts off. I tried to reinstall the firmware but that doesn't even work since the phone can't stay booted for longer than 10 seconds. It won't show up in my computer.
