    Post System update notice

I was not rooted and don't care about root. Yes, upgraded to D85130e from D83130d. I kept getting the annoying system notice and it would try to force the upgrade after a day or so. It always failed. Running the update through PC Suite worked without any issues. A day of using it and I haven't...

    Post System update notice

After a dozen times over the last two months of this update failing (OTA), I decided to try updating over the PC. I went to t-mobile site, it says to download LG Bridge to run update. After 10 minutes of downloading/installing, LG Bridge says this device (D851) cannot be managed with LG Bridge...

Post LG is selling official g3 batteries for $15 a piece

Yes, I ordered two, one each for the wife and I. They were new production, made in July 2016 IIFC. BTW, the charging cradle is also back in stock for the G3. Although not advertised, if you add a battery and the cradle, a discount is applied. $20 for both!

Unfortunately, not yet. It hasn't tried to install again. When tell it to check for updates, it says "your system is up to date." I guess I won't worry too much.

Post LG is selling official g3 batteries for $15 a piece

These are back in stock as of today. They were OOS of the charger cradle though. When I checked in June, they didn't have the batteries either, so that is a good sign. Hopefully they are fairly new production.

    Post System update notice

I get this notice, but get an error when it tries to install. Not rooted. Just running stock, unlocked with AT&T service. My wife's phone had the same problem. We are still showing security patch date of April and software D85130d. Any ideas what would cause this?

Solved, somewhat...by using Textra SMS app and changing APN setting to have IPv4/IPv6 selected. It works now.

Post Unable to download multimedia messages

I know I'm dredging up an old thread here, but I just started using an unlocked D851 with an AT&T sim card. I've put in the AT&T APN settings that are published by AT&T. I have wifi calling turned off (because it just gives an unsupported SIM error message) and I have this issue of not being...

Post [GUIDE]Odin to Stock, Updating, Rooting, and Installing Safestrap

More frustration. Kies says no updates, say it is current (NB1). Set clock ahead 1-day. Upgrade servers say it is current. I did format the SD card, twice in the phone. That made no difference. I have other cards, but they are in devices and have data/photos on them. I don't want to risk...

Post [GUIDE]Odin to Stock, Updating, Rooting, and Installing Safestrap

Guys, I'm pulling my hair out here. I somehow soft-bricked my phone after trying to un-root, and factory reset (about to sell the phone). I was able to Odin back to NB1 with no problems, now I'm trying to bring it current by putting files on SD card. However, every time I save one of the zip...

    Post [How-To] Update to I337_OK2 - 5.0.1 and KeepRoot

Thanks, but that is the same free version that I can get from the Play Store. I was using the pro version of 6.1 because it backs up SMS/call logs/WiFi AP settings/etc.

    Post [How-To] Update to I337_OK2 - 5.0.1 and KeepRoot

Tried that, still can't get my older version to work. I think that my version just isn't compatible with Lolipop. Unfortunately, I can't get it from the Play Store. Someone had given me the APK for it a couple years back.

3rd time, a charm...almost. After the failures earlier today, I was ready to forget about it altogether...then my wife's phone updated to Lolipop OTA. I liked what I saw with 5.0.1 so much, I thought I'd give it one more try. This time, I downloaded directly from the phone (over wifi). I used...

I'm still having trouble with this. I got things back to stock NB1, rooted with Towelroot, installed SuperSU and Flashfire. Post [How-To] Update to I337_OK2 - 5.0.1 and KeepRoot

Crap. I finally got fed up, and decided to Odin back to NB1 and try again. I figured out that I was using a bad USB cable earlier when I transferred 5.0.1 files to SD. I couldn't even get Odin to work with it. Went to a different one and now it is working. Who knows what was corrupted earlier...

    Post [Guide] Enable Tethering/Hotspot - Samsung S4 AT&T I337 (4.3 & 4.2.2)

It seems that with the new Shared Data plans that AT&T is offering (which tend to be a better deal for most people), they are not putting a lock on tethering anymore. I just bought a 'certified like new' no-contract phone from AT&T. I checked and it is still on MK2, I put in my SIM, waited for...

Well, after almost a day, I can say that re-flashing the ROM (P1>R2) has made an obvious and huge improvement in my battery life. Over the last few months, even when I didn't get one of these phantom battery drain issues, I was still struggling to get 24 hours on a charge. After flashing...

I've been running the P1 version of CleanRom 7 since it was released (September?). It worked so well, I never bothered to come back and check for a final release. That was, until recently. I probably will in the future...wait, looks like you have to have the pro version to really do everything...I suppose $7 is worth the simplicity. BTW, when I said a few hours, that was just to give SMS backup and the play store time to update everything. Not really an active process.

Scott, I am glad to see you are thinking of another update. I would also be very happy to see a CR based on 4.2.2. It would probably be the last ROM I load on my Evita. I don't see HTC supporting the device through any other updates.

FYI: there is a hardware issue with the SIM trays on these phones. My wife's One X would have the 'no SIM' message at least once a day. She was fully stock, not unlocked, etc. I've never seen it on my One X. AT&T had us replace the SIM once, no help. Cleaned the contacts, no help. After 2-3...
