    Yes it is, BTW if I remember correctly, I've worked around that by booting either RedWolf either TWRP, flashing a LOS/AOSP-based Oreo ROM and flashing RedWolf by recovery.

    I know it may seem obvious, BUT have you correctly double checked the connections of all the cables like in this video? https://youtu.be/35spo-0ja38 I know it's the Redmi 4 but that shouldn't actually change anything in the structure apart from the camera LED position.

    I suggest you to try to install termux with gnu bash and shell utilities and to read the full documentation, you may need Fake Store on the basis of how much well-coded are the apps you use because some can FC if Play Store isn't installed which actually is just sick.
