Because someone said he tested most of the different builds and the 4.4 had the best battery performance. I can confirm that so far. No statistics collected yet but the standby drain is close to zero and yesterday I had 4h display on time. And it doesn't feel like the battery is melting away...

Why did you do it so complicated and need to install all your apps afterwards? I did an upgrade flash 40 to 4.5 and did what another guy said cleared dalvik and cache. All my apps are working perfectly and no other issues so far. I also flashed the ael kernel 4.4 and all is running smooth now...

I've installed this Mod on a NE8 deodexed/slim rom with NE8 modem and latest Alucard-Kernel. Unfortunately the Wifi-Hotspot doesn't work. It tries to activate 2 or 3 times and then the phone resets... ??

Yeah, you're absolutely right, man. Instead of fixing the since 100 nightlies buggy bluetooth, the too high bat drain that comes and goes build-by-build or the time/date set issue, they do too much experimental things instead.

Debloating For all those users who think this rom is too bloated, like me, i attached a list of what's safe to be uninstalled. Afterwards the ram consumption is about 300-400 mb lower and system starts up 15s faster. And hopefully the battery life is better also...(expected, but not yet...

There is no big trouble with this knox bootloader, just the warranty is gone and downgrade is a little more complicated. The benefits of upgrading to kitkat on the other hand are very much worth this little "trouble". And after all, who really wants to get stuck to an oldfashioned android...

Someone may correct me if I'm wrong but if you got an older knox-free bootloader you can flash a rom that is knox(-bootloader) and modem free, like the one I mentioned above, you can't do something wrong. 4.4.2 roms run with older bootloaders, in some cases it is neccessary to flash some fixes...

With cwm you can go back to any version you want (if you created a backup before of course...). I must confess I didn't test to go backwards via rom zip flashing...

Well that's strange... This LTE option doesn't appear on my device. Do I have to update the modem? It's XXUEMJ5 at the moment. I've already downloaded the newest but am not sure about the possible risks when flashing...

This option doesn't exist in 6.26.6 (anymore). By the way the developer posted that further developments for the s4 are unified and to be downloaded from the jflte folder at goo.im. No jfltexx anymore.

Which file manager do you use? "root explorer" i.e. has sometimes problems and sais it's write protected. I use "root browser" which does a good job, mostly.

Did you set the permissions and owner correctly? Otherwise it can't work.
