Post Zenfone 3 deluxe bootloop problem after update

Hey all, These instructions are assuming you have a 2.15ghz 570KL. I'm not responsible if your phone gets bricked any further. Grab the standalone adb/fastboot tools https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools Grab recovery.img from 15.0210.1808.70, grab...

I tried the tool, but it was having trouble putting my phone into EDL mode. I tried various methods, like vol+ and vol- while rebooting and changing the fastboot command to send and edl reboot command but it didn't stick. I'll keep trying to get it to work though. In any case, did you try the...

I took a look at the updated trace. Looks good up to where the computer tries to interact with the device. It seems there's a signature validation it's failing, possibly because the source FRP file isn't official. In Configure > Firehose configuration, is the option for validation on? If it's...

dcraffam, what's the version of QFIL that you're using? I don't see any mentions of some of the keywords I was expecting (i.e. Sahara, firehose, rawprogram0.xml) The QFIL I linked is 2.0.1.1. I think the older one isn't compatible with UFS.

Darn, was really hoping it would work. Would you mind running it again, and then copying and saving the output text, and then post it here? I'd like to use it to research it further. Also, what do you mean by make a backup? Do you have more information regarding this process?

A (Rough!!!) Guide to (Hopefully) Unbricking the ZS570KL from 9008 issue So let's get started, dcraffam. As a *DISCLAIMER* I am not responsible for any damage this may cause your phone (Although how much more damage can really be done when it's bricked?) This is all based on theory, as my...

So, I've got bad news, and hopefully good news. First the bad news. From the research I have done, I believe the method that you've presented here will not work. This is because around the time when the Snapdragon 820 came out, many companies opted to use UFS over EMMC, as it's essentially the...

Hey! I'm currently in the process of trying to get this sorted out. I don't want to get to into the explanation of it, but would you kindly edit your post to remove that file list. There's nothing personal in it, but I'd rather the contents of my SD card be kept private. In short, the command...

Hey, I checked it out and have followed the instructions. Didn't know this was a thing and thought it would be good to have just in case a flash goes wrong. Before you download, I'd like for you to confirm that my model was what you asked for: the ZS570KL with a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 CPU. If...

Post Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe (Pro and reguler) newest firmware ( 7 march 2018) WW-5.17.44.87

That's weird to me though. I just checked again and both variants are missing the current update, 5.17.44.87. Did they pull it for some reason? As far as I can tell, my phone is behaving pretty normally. Anyone that's updated notice anything weird? I've removed the link. This article claims...

You're right about that. I've updated my post to reflect it. This 100%. I think that it's important to backup any data that isn't already backed up. I can only hope that those who do have to go through this update process (as opposed to OTA updates) are careful with which versions they...

Post Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe (Pro and reguler) newest firmware ( 7 march 2018) WW-5.17.44.87

Update Impressions Happy to report that the update has improved my phone's performance. Before, when I would go to the gym, listening to Spotify via Bluetooth would drain the battery from 95%->60%. Post update, battery stayed above 80% from full charge. It also feels a bit faster overall. It's...

Post Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe (Pro and reguler) newest firmware ( 7 march 2018) WW-5.17.44.87

Interesting, was this an issue with the WW-5.17.44.68 update or has this been an ongoing issue? I didn't bother with the previous one because it didn't seem to do a whole lot, but never noticed this issue. I hate doing this juggle. Big part of why I don't try to update unless it's significant...

Post Possible BIG issue with WW-5.17.44.68

That's rough. I haven't bothered with the update because it's too much of a hassle right now to go to stock recovery and update. I think your best bet would be to stay on your backed up firmware and wait out the Oreo update (which should be soon as well.) Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully it...

Yep. ZS570KL owner checking in. Been checking incessantly because I really wanted to get my hands on Oreo and ZenUI 4.0! Saw the news that Zenfone 3 had gotten the update, checked the update page on the Asus website to find there was only a minor update waiting for me, released a little bit...

Alright just to confirm, you pressed and held both combinations (power+volUp/power+volDown), and it doesn't even power on correct? And you press and hold the power button, it does absolutely nothing? And the phone itself is charged correct? Like blahforme mentioned, did you grab the correct...

Ok, please elaborate on these so I can get an idea of what we're working with. Can you power on your phone into fastboot mode (vol. up +power)? If you can get it to boot to that, I think there's a good chance you can salvage it. Did you use "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" when installing...

Can you tell me what model Asus you have, as well as which firmware you grabbed from the site? Someone else on here had a scare with a black screen and a long boot but it eventually worked for them. I don't think this is the case though. Did you try rebooting into recovery? If you followed...

Glad to see it working for you! Ah yeah. I have the same issue. I settled for hiding the apps with Nova Launcher, disabling them in Settings>Apps, and then trying to delete their stubs in Titanium. The app is still there though. Do let us know if deleting them via file manager works.

Post [DEV][ZS550KL][ZS570KL][ZS570KLPRO] Bootloader Unlock, Root & Busybox

No problem. Is everything working alright for you? The unroot script was a batch file or something that went through and cleaned out any instances of root, busybox, etc. I didn't link it because I lost the link and didn't feel like it was necessary anyways, since you flash the stock firmware.
