received the update by hitting the button just a few mins ago. ;) So i am on 8.1 via OTA now.

Thats not good. Maybe any apps are blowing the battery away in the background? Weak mobile signal? GPS always on? Using AoD? I use my device as daily driver, AoD on, GPS off, mobile signal most of the time, ~20% of the time wifi. I get around 2 days of using with 4-6 hrs SoT.

Got mine today. Just black 64gb in Bremen, Germany. I am pretty satisfied, only minimal blueshift, very nice display, nice speaker. I like it so far and no issues!

Ohhh no, that doesnt sound good :/ Did you installed the Novemer patch for saturated colors? Maybe this will change the blueshift at least a bit .. I guess you will return your device because of this bad screen? :/ I am pretty afraid of getting a 2XL with worst blueshift ..

Same here, I am located in Germany and ordered my device via "Deutsche Telekom". I am also following this thread because there isnt any german discussion forum about the pixel 2 xl and I guess the shipments, batches and the stock will be nearly the same in UK and Germany. :)

Hey guys, any news about the latest batch? I live in Germany and the Pixel 2 XL release date is on 15.11.17 so I guess the device I get will be manufactured between 01.11.17 and 10.11.17. Any news especially about dispaly issues (blue shift and burn in)?

If yes, this will be a warranty issue and google has to RMA it ;) With this issue they just can not say "works like intended" ..

Afaik that is a typically issue with viper and magisk. A few months ago when I used viper with super su there wasnt any issues. But I am not 100% sure, just a hint.

I was thinking the same. Get my Pixel 2 XL on November 15th and if it doenst fit my expectations than I will probably go with the upcoming OnePlus 5t.

Google is investigating about the burn-in issue. But I have to say, that it strongly looks like you dont have a burn-in-issue on your device. It actually sound more like an "Image Retention"-issue, which is not permanent. Just stay with your device until google is dropping an update/statement...

If yours is coming today, let us know, how this display is in your opinion. :) Mine is coming in mid November and actually I'm a bit afraid because all these display-issue topics on XDA ..

Srsly man? Hardware is good but its still sammy's laggy crappy software. Touchwiz or "SamsungExperience" is a No Go. Thats why we bought the Pixel ;)

Dont have my Pixel 2 xl yet but I'm also thinking about getting OP5t instead. Better Display, better charging time, overclocked processor, less bezels all in all less issues .. :/ Not sure anymore.

Just look at it and you'll see. If nothing is bothering you, you'll be fine. Tbh just try images on full view with only one color (like black, white, red, blue, green, yellow) and look out for burn-in's, fuzziness and blue shifting angles.

It already is a PR disaster imho. But we'll see how google reacts to all these issues. Maybe they just say: all works how it should. :D
