Reporting back on Google play services crash: installed the vendor.img update (using the zip via recovery) and the crash went away. Was having issues with Smart Lock working and linking Google account to apps (like Pushbullet) and both issues are resolved. FWIW and all. :)

Yes. Two different ones. Work fine. As does USB to HDMI and anything USB I've tried so far. Problem is that the tablet is not powered while using USB unless you hack something.
