I've got my Nexus 5 and its great and all that but I find it cannot get a decent hsdpa connection on vodafone. My old Galaxy Nexus had no issues but the Nexus 5 is stuck with an E data connection?! This is on a new SIM. Anyone having issues?

Mine came over on Friday last week, UK Wifi only Xoom GEDified. Keep banging away on the update button. You could also try force closing Google Framework Services, Clearing data and then check for updates?

Mine was unlocked and I did have the issue :eek: Rolled back to honeycomb, locked the bootloader and im now all JB'ed up. Odd.

Yeah - Mine says 1970 too... Perhaps this is why we're still waiting to pull the OTA update?

Thanks man - I've a UK Xoom that I GEDified and I too left the bootloader unlocked. Im going to follow your guide now and take it back down to the stock US build and lock the damn bootloader this time!

I had my UK Xoom from launch, and yes I paid and subsequently learnt that all none-US Xoom's are not GED's. I have flashed mine to GED but if I was buying now I'd have the Nexus 7 in a shot. Do it!

I know how you feel, here in the UK we also receive absolutely no support from Motorola, all owners still waiting on the ICS update. Go drop the GED image on it, I did. ... and steer clear of buying any more Motorola products unless you move to the US.

Just to update - tried with a mates Vodafone UK sim and it worked fine so its looking like my old school SIM needs to be updated...

As noted previously the phone will still lock if there's a password set by an Exchange policy. Still a nice little application though. Shame it doesn't work with Exchange lock.

Just found this - I've downloaded and I'll test tonight when I get on my wifi. I have a password lock enforced via Exchange certificate from my place of work. It'd be great if it would work with that also... Desire, Froyo.

Just another 'me too' post. I've started to get the SOD with the new ROM, something that didn't happen with the previous ROM. I've reverted to the previous ROM until HTC fix. Shame as I quite liked the new sense.

Yes, bettery life on my handset has been reduced. I've disabled all the push internet and removed a couple of the touch flo tabs to see if this will help. I think the new weather panel could be contributing.

Seriously boss. You can buy from anyone of these sellers and if you're not happy, dead pixel or otherwise then you can send it back with no obligation citing distance selling act. The common vendors like expansys, amazon etc are all good for it. Pick someone whom you trust and pull the trigger!

I get the 3G icon when it's just idling. As soon as I start to pull data it instantly switches to the 'H' icon. It's no biggie. Im on an unlocked HTC TP2 with Voda SIM btw, N. London/Herts region.

I use the Notes app quite a lot and I've noticed that it takes an age to start up on the Touch Pro 2. I never had this problem with Notes on my Xperia. Anyone got any ideas how to speed the startup time? Any other notes programs that I should be considering?

I did the same thing, sold my X1 for the TP2. Both are great phones, the X1 has some good points, as does the TP2. I do like the larger screen on the TP2 but miss the physical buttons from the X1.

Negative - that didn't work. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT navigate to http, Shell, Open, Command set Default key to \windows\OperaL.exe Repeated the above for https key.

Update - Solution was setting the mime type handlers in registry to \windows\OperalL.exe %1 Did this for http and https.

Guys Recently I've noticed that links in emails etc open in Internet Explorer as opposed to Opera. I'm running stock ROM, unbranded TP2 and have not altered any setting knowingly pertaining to the browser. Anyone got any ideas? I hate IE with a passion and dont want to see it anywhere?!

I've done just that - It's going out to them as soon as I get home. The one thing that has really pissed me off re. Vodafone is that they wont address another issue that I have unless I pay them (VodafoneUK) to fix the crack!

I have the same crack as most here, split on the plastic below the volume rocker. I'm just living with it though. I'm also on Vodafone and since they dont carry the device anymore (and would you? Not exactly a great phone is it?!) I'm resigned to buying myself a hero instead.

I see the same issue with R2A Vodafone/UK rom. The data connection icons and also the activesyn icons (the two arrows) are increased in size. I can live with that though. Thanks for the battery icon gtrab
